Follow these steps to learn how to embed a Manuscript in an article or your world's homepage. Take a look at the mock-up example on the right to see how Manuscript embeds look.
With the Visual Editor
If you're using the Visual Editor:
- Open the slash menu and look for the Manuscript option (i.e. type "/manuscript").
- A search field will appear. Use it to find the Manuscript you want to embed and click it.
Within the Visual Editor, if you click on an embedded Manuscript, you'll be taken to the Manuscript edit interface
Example title
With the Advanced BBCode Editor
- Open your Manuscript for editing.
- On the left navigation panel, click the name of the Manuscript to access the Manuscript's configuration page.
- Find the Export tab on the right. Copy the embed code, which looks like [manuscript:...].
- Paste the code in any BBCode-enabled field (like the article or homepage editor) to embed it.
Embedding a chapter or scene
This option is only available with the Advanced Editor and is similar to the full Manuscript embed:
- In the Manuscripts edit page, click on the chapter or scene you want to embed on the left.
- On the right, click the cog tab and scroll to the bottom.
- Copy the [manuscriptpart:ID] tag and paste it in any field that accepts BBCode!
This will create an inline link by default. To embed it as a block (like the general manuscript embed), you can simply use the |block option, like this: [manuscriptpart:ID|block].
