Family trees are a great way to display the relationships between your characters in an interactive way. Here's how you can embed a family tree into your article!

With the Visual Editor

  1. Open the slash menu and look for the Family Tree option (i.e. type "/family tree").
  2. Use the search field to look for the character you want the tree to be focused on.

Within the Visual Editor, clicking on the family tree will open a preview. You can also click the "Settings" button on the family tree to tweak options like zoom level and tree direction.

With the Advanced BBCode Editor

  1. Go to the article of the character you want the family tree to be focused on.
  2. Click on the Relationships button in the bottom toolbar.
  3. Click on the Copy Family Tree button.
  4. Paste it in any article to embed the family tree.

Family tree options with BBCode

The family tree embed code has a couple of options that you can use to customize how it looks. This is the syntax:

[familytree:id-here|DIRECTION|ZOOM]

Here's an explanation of each option:

  • Direction: family trees have an upwards direction by default (i.e. parents will appear higher than children). If you want to change this, you can do so in any of the four basic directions. The accepted values are up, down, left, and right.
  • Zoom: replace this with a number to set the default zoom of the family tree. The default value is 100, so use a smaller number if you want to display large family trees.

Bloodlines

Bloodlines show only the descendants of two characters instead of the full family tree. Follow these steps:

  1. Get the IDs of the two characters. You can get them from their respective family tree embeds (see above to learn how to get it).
  2. Create the BBCode tag using this syntax: [bloodline:PARENT-1&PARENT-2] (replace PARENT-1 and PARENT-2 for the two character IDs).
  3. Paste it in an article to embed the bloodline.
