Articles on World Anvil hold the fundamentals of your worldbuilding—think of them as Wikipedia articles for your world. There are different kinds of article “templates”, each with different prompts (which are all optional) and, in some cases, specific features.
Here’s how to create a new article:
- Click the green Create button to bring up the template list with a search bar at the top. Click on a template to create a new article of that type:
- Write the title for your article and start writing!
- Once the article has a title, changes save automatically so you can close the edit modal at any time.
Alternatively, while editing an article with the Visual Editor, you can type "@" followed by the title of a new article you want to create, and you'll get a button to create it. If you click it, the article will be created in the background (so you can keep focusing on the one you're editing) with a placeholder text with a reminder about when you created it.
