How to Password-Protect Your Articles

Available to Sage subscription tier. Upgrade here.

Password protection can be a great way to share your worldbuilding with specific people without adding them as subscribers, and you can even use it for gamification! If you're a Sage of the Guild, here's how you can set it up:

  1. Edit the article in the Old Version Edit interface and make sure it's set to Published (check this how-to for details). It doesn't matter if it's Public or Private, as the password protection will override it.
  2. Go to the Security tab and set the password in the "Passcord/Direct link access" field. Passwords can be up to 256 characters long.

  3. Send the article link to your readers. When they access it, they will need to enter the password to view the article.

If you want to add an additional call to action (for example, a link to your Patreon page), you can do so in the "Passcode call to action" field.
