Session 6: The Voyage to Rusty Crag Report

General Summary

There were several options for the Chaos Crew. They could have embarked on a quest to find their peculiar friend who seemed to have escaped. Alternatively, they could have delved into the eerie well of Alderstead to uncover its mysterious aura. However, they ultimately chose to accept their new companion Elmo's offer to guide them to where Bran's motor would end up. Their journey to Rusty Crag began, heading north. It didn't take them long to reach the small farm and lumber village of Hilagan. The party instructed Elmo to watch the cart while they ventured into town. Eidde and Phaeron swiftly discovered a couple of eateries, each with unique chefs. To the right, there was Denny, a very tan, shirtless Satyr with long hair pulled back and standing proudly over a huge grill full of cuts of meat. He had a massive smoker billowing, showcasing a beautifully slow-cooked brisket. Next to him was a fancy, well-dressed elf with a sous chef shirt, tie, and vest. He was eager to sell the enormous roast bird he had in a giant stone oven. The two of them bickered over whose food was better and where our heroes should spend their hard-earned gold   Meanwhile, Nuzzur found himself in trouble as he impulsively jumped down the well, hoping to discover similarities to a previous encounter. Seeing a shimmer at the bottom, he quickly climbed down. Then he at the bottom he broke through the sides of the well, water started rushing it. Nuzzur now covered in mud, did his best to make his way back to the top. Slipping and sliding he got out, facing judgment from onlookers. Eidde, unwilling to deal with Nuzzur, volunteered to retrieve Mycha to gather the group for the taste test. Mycha, had already headed to the local drinking hole, the Barnyard Brewers Alehouse. It was here that all hell broke loose, he insulted the bar tender and mistakenly inquired quite loudly about the Baneful Badgers, leading to a confrontation. As Mycha faced Denzler and Bart the Defiler, a formidable pair of members of The Baneful Badgers along with their cronies. Both of them right in his face for asking questions about them, Mycha Realizing the trouble turns to jump on to the bar and throw a dagger into the face of a one of the weaker foes. Denzler and Bart chased after him and began swinging. Mychya realized this all too late; they each kept swinging at him until he was nearly minced meat. That is, until they went chasing after Eidde. He and the rest of the party met up in the street outside of the alehouse. A full-on battle ensued outside, but back inside the walls, the bartender and a new friend were tending to Mycha's wounds and helping him back to his feet. Mycha was distrusting and didn't even give one thanks; then Phaeron showed up, running in, trying to save Mycha himself.   Nuzzur was outside, laying a beatdown on the enemies, and Eidde was supporting him, taking out the last of the underlings. Mycha and Phaeron came running out, and the unnamed village defender came right behind. Together they were able to put Denzler to the ground. At that same moment, Nuzzur was hit again and knocked unconscious. Then, with Bart only able to stand while leaning on his hammer, he pleaded with the group in front of him to spare him. Mycha forced a potion down Nuzzur’s throat, and that got him back to his feet, but he came back swinging. Axe through the air and swiftly into the dirt, dazed a little, he missed by a mile. The village defender pipes up that he was thankful, as he has been tracking these guys for months and hadn't had the info or the muscle to get them out of his town and find out where they come from. The party was sore and beaten, but everyone was still standing; the Chaos Crew will fight another day
