Session 7: Adventures in Ashanor Report

General Summary

This session the party fought some undead polar bears, a couple of Frost Giants, one of which was a spellcaster and had strange runic coins on him, and lastly got ambushed by more devils. Garlord sacrificed some of his health to rid them of the extra imps using a fireball on himself, while the rest of the pack fought off the Barbed Devil and the Shadow Demon, Tyrone finishing each.

That evening as they set up camp they realized they were not far from another smoking fire. With only half a day or so left to the fortress they needn't be ambushed again. Raphael along with Juniper set out to scout the camp while maintaining telepathic communication.

They found the camp and along with it some survivors of the soldiers posted at the fort. One who was injured both in arm and in leg and therefore couldn't walk. The soldiers gave the party valuable intel on the location of the portal room and what dangers they may face within. Finally, the party offered them their cart to return to Macenti with as they prepared to enter the fortress.

They ensured they would approach the fortress during the day and used the time to scout the surrounding area with Garlords figurine of wondrous power. After entering the fortress they quickly stalked their way to the storage room with the trap door leading into the underfort. In the first room they were met with strange spiders that seemed to leap out of existence. Finally they entered the portal room to spy the open portal and a Black Abishai standing in front of it....
