CC: One Shot: The Tomb of Dreams Report

General Summary

The infernal three were once again called by Torment, Gift of the Corrupted to collect another dark secret in the name of the lord of lies, Aratan.

The three were instructed to enter one of the most protected realms in the dream museum. They were promised artifacts of unspeakable power, they simply needed to collect a single skull and deliver it to Aratan's contact. With alarms ringing and individuals fleeing the outpost, they used the moment to reach the museum's darkest corridors. Unfortunately, the mystical portal through The Ether was locked - seeming more concerned with keeping something in, than them out. Frustrated by the arcane locks, they tricked a fire genasi into breaking the locks and hurled him through the portal.

Twisting through the Ether, they found themselves in an abstract realm. Otherworldy blood witches sought to sacrifice the party into their technological altar, but only the innocent poetry professor they dragged along was harmed. Pressing on, they found themselves in a realm controlled by ancient Gods. In which, a hooded figure defeated his ghosts and introduced himself as Bathin. The cat-like figure explained that Klothys had foretold a destiny to be fulfilled that day. With the passing on of his time-warping blade, Bathin's Bane, he was finally able to find rest.

Deeper in the dreaming dungeon, a warlock from a land of mists made herself known. Desperate for materials to fashion her phylactery, she traded her black book, Dreamwhisper, Grimoire of the Stars,in exchange for infernal machinery.

With two dreaming orbs in hand, the party opened a doorway into yet another world. In which, they met a blind elvish girl. Cautious of the party, Asra raised her ice knives but eventually welcomed the help in defeating the plague on her homeland. Together the four went toe-to-toe with a twisted dragon named Shanta. The beast unleashed a blast of moonlight that evaporated the poor genasi professor who had accompanied the party thus far. Qu'el performed blood rituals and stood in the face of the beast, holding her back. Moving quickly, Jinx paused time and delivered a series of blows deeply wounding the moon-powered Shanta. Taking advantage of her bloodied state, Lamb hurled Shanta through the realms of Aratan which ripped her limb from limb.

With Shanta defeated, and Asra pleased that she could begin restoring her people, the party returned to the main room. With the magic weakening, a new door broke open. Inside a massive throne held a skull the size of a man. Unlocking the traps, they released the fungal bones and returned them to reality. With the alarms still buzzing, Hagith herself stood before them. She took the skull of Razael and whispered softly to it, "It is ok my love, everything is in motion. I have prepared for your resurrection on Merus. I've even been shown proof of our divine favor. A ship called The Orion has brought us countless new souls to feed the Seraph. My emissary are already there and soon, we will finish what we started all those years ago."
