Session 60: Dawn in Demon's Square

General Summary

  Dawn in Demon's Square, on the edge of the city's municipality and in the hazy twilight time caught between the Darkness and Kylor's rising light. Two mages stand ready at either end of the square, waiting for the first of the sun's rays to touch the church tower. The duel that followed saw waves of arcana pour through the open square and batter against the two opponents, but in the final moments before the sunlight crossed the church's doors, Carvalle managed to gain the victory.
  In the celebrations and cheering that followed, a shriller scream rung out, followed by others. Soon the crowd was panicking and running from the square. In the turmoil, the party found infected individuals attacking the townsfolk and set about putting them down. Where had they come from? They had yet to see any like these before.
  The night before, the party had studied Lord Pride's journal. It contained anatomical drawings and experiment recordings of various trials performed on people. They recognised a few of the figures as the returned bodies that had brought them to Saine in the first place, and what was worse, Avina recognised the hand that written the journal's contents. It was Lady Eleanore Swindon's.
