Session II: The City of Towers Awaits Report

General Summary

The Party finished a short rest and tended to their wounds and then continued west down the Old Road. While traveling they noticed a flying airship above them heading towards the City of the Towers. Later they decided to make camp. Fen and Mariella went hunting and found 10 rabbits to cook for dinner. They dozed off and went to sleep. During Nova's watch, the warforged noticed 3 humanoids dressed in red cloth step out of the darkness and unsheathe their weapons, then they all heard a loud horn and the people retreated back into the night. Thoughts of the Redcloak Battalion come up. During Lina's watch she noticed she was resting on a patch of poison ivy near the camp that managed to keep her scratching throughout the night.   The Party rose the next day and began traveling toward Sharn, soon after they noticed more airships approaching the city. They approached the traveler's district known as Wroan's gate and noticed many of the immigrants coming into the city were monster races such as goblins, ogres and gnolls. Sergeant left them to go check in with her commanding officer and told the party to meet her in the Upper Central Plateau if they need work and that they'll be hearing from her soon. While discussing what to do in Sharn, the party was approached by a sketchy-looking halfling who was missing an arm. He went by the name Hildo Swagfoot and offered to show the party around Sharn for a modest fee of 5GP. They agreed and he showed them some of the lower and middle wards, and even advised them of avoiding certain districts all together such as the Fallen district. He also, strangely, refused to go anywhere in the upper wards of the city. He showed them to the Bazaar to do some shopping which was in the middle Dura quarter. They purchased a set of Tinker's Tools, some rations and sold some unwanted goods. After deciding that they wanted to join an Adventuring guild, Hildo suggested two. The Clifftop Adventure's Guild in the Upper Dura District or The Deathgate Explorer's Club in the Middle Ward of Tavick's Landing. They ultimately decided on The Clifftop Adventure's Guild which wasn't too far off. Knowing that Hildo wouldn't go with them in to the Upper Ward, Hildo gave them directions to the guildhall and said that he would find them using his special "arcane earing" if they needed him.   The Party ventured higher to the next ward past luxurious and expensive looking residential districts until they arrived at the Clifftop district where they noticed a small halfling boy selling newspapers from the Voice of Breland. It read about the possibility of the Sharn Watch working in tandem with the Boromar Clan. Once at the door of the Guildhall, a older man with a cane, who smelled of freshly baked bread introduced himself as Aldo. He worked the front desk as the bookkeeper and told the party about the guild and all it's benefits. They agreed to pay the dues of 13 GP per adventurer and became official recruits of the Clifftop Adventurer's Guild. They immediately found the guild job board where they found 3 job postings. The first was a posting about a purse that was snatched from an old lady by a half-orc. The purse was filled with the leaves of an exotic plant and if  found the the party would receive 300 GP and a dozen baked cookies. The second was a posting from a group of musical performers who wanted to sabotage some magicians who were preforming somewhere in the Menthis Plateau and compensation would be discussed in person. The third was addressed from "Your local councilman" that stated they needed help killing zombies in the lower wards of the Dura quarter, specifically the Fallen district.   After deciding on taking the third job posting, they headed down to the Lower Ward of the Dura quarter and made their way into the Fallen District. They saw buildings and structures that were in ruin. Temples and shrines that seemed to be in a state of utter destruction states of disrepair as if something had crashed into this part of the city a long time ago and had just been left there. They saw a distant light in the only temple that seemed to not be fully destroyed. They approached it and saw a half naked man in alabaster skin with blonde hair and radiating blue eyes that was dressed in a yellow loin cloth. The man stated that he need their help in order to defeat the Ravers, which were these ghouls that were driven mad by the ghosts of the fallen people who died there a long time ago. He agreed to help them just as around fifteen ghouls began appearing and approaching the temple.   Session End.
