Session III: The Blackstone Church Report

General Summary

The party helped the fallen angel slay a hoard of undead ravers. The fallen angel introduced himself as Sythrael and thanked the party for helping and asked if they would help rebuild a new universal church in the Fallen district. Sythrael offered the churches tidings as an offering of good faith if they were to help recruit others and assist in physically rebuilding here.    The party made their way back to Clifftop Adventuring Guild pretty late and was greeted by the Guild Leader, Sumara "Summer" Korranor, turned in their completed quest, was told their reward would be ready in the morning so they went to sleep in their respected rooms in the Guild Hall. During Rex's sleep, he had a dream of the Silver Flame, Tira Miron, who was struggling in a battle against a Pit Fiend which strangely resembled Rex.   The next day the party woke up, collected their reward from Aldo the bookkeeper, and picked out another quest from the bulletin board. They find an advertisement for a bard extraordinaire and an extermination job in the Middle Northedge ward about moaning and chain rattling in the attic of a dwarvish woman's house.   They headed out and purchased some things from some merchants in the Clifftop district. (Some rations, a shield, and 3 local maps of Sharn). They headed back to the Fallen District to volunteer themselves to rebuild the church. Sythrael thanks them and dubs the place of worship "Blackstone Church". More citizens begin helping the fallen angel in his work and the party leaves.    The party noticed flying rowboats or sky-coaches taking people to different wards at a speedier rate, they paid the conductor and boarded them toward the Middle Northedge Quarter. They noticed a prestigious university and a majestic Cathedral of the Silver Flame as they flew over the Central Plateau. They arrived at their destination in the Holdfast District in the Middle Northedge Quarter where they were met by a dwarven woman who led them to her 2 story house. She stated that she heard chains rattling and moaning in the night but assumed that they were just raccoons on the count of the pest problem that the house has. She said it came from the attic but she never went up to the second floor since it was her late husbands study. Upon investigating the party revealed that there was no entrance to the attic but they did smell blood nearby. They went outside the house and saw a small window on the roof that could possibly be the attic, upon peering inside they discovered a slumped over body. They teleported inside the attic via Mariella's summoned elemental companion and discovered the recently deceased body of a dwarvish man covered in blood. Presumed that it was the woman's husband, they began to think of other scenarios as to how this could've happened. They noticed there was a hammer and some nails scattered about and the exit to the second floor was boarded up as if to look as if there was no attic. Just then the ghost of the dead dwarf possessed Nova, spoke through him saying that he wanted revenge on his killer. He immediately jumped out of the warforged and revealed himself to the party. The only information that the ghost could give them is that the killer was small and had hairy feet.   Once the party decided to confront the wife about the ghost and potentially help the ghost out, they ripped open the floorboards off from the attic and descended down to the second floor. Just then the wife approached the stairs and asked if everything was okay. They asked about how her husband died. She said she just assumed the Boromar Clan killed him but not to report them since they're working with the Sharn Watch. Then they revealed  that her husband's dead body was in the attic.
