Fatemakers Session Eight: A Pirate's Life for Us
General Summary
With a new ship and the open skies ahead, our Fatemakers plan their next steps. Electing Kellan Highwind Captain of The Raven's Fortune, they decide to act on the knowledge of an Imperial cargo ship en route to Kankos with potentially valuable cargo. They set out to Pickiny Port, an Imperial trade outpost on the border of Federation and Imperial skies, where the ship is said to in port for a couple of weeks. On the way they stop by a Federation trading settlement, to pick up some supplies. There they acquire a revolver from a shop before hitting the tavern. Ruby Xander, however, had different plans and headed back to the shop while the owner was out, stealing the shotgun they couldn't afford, but not without setting off a magical alarm. They depart and arrive shortly thereafter to Pickiny Port. Our Fatemakers know they couldn't hope to take the Imperial ship in a fair fight, so they must sabotage their defenses while they are in port. They have a week or so before the ship is due to leave, so they decide to take on a quick shipping job, transporting produce to a skyland not far from Pickiny Port. They successfully transport said goods, all the while Kellan and Volundr Marem teach the rest of the Fatemakers, including Evan McDermitt, how to fly an airship. After a few more days of some well earned rest and relaxation, Hidekazai Tokogama sets out to sabotage the Imperial ship's cannons on the eve of the ship's departure. After a few harrowing close calls, Hide managed to sneak past the Imperial presence and sabotage the ship. He heads back and the next morning the ship leaves, with the Raven's Fortune soon to follow.
