Session 2: Mist and Dream

General Summary

The party wakes up in the cave and notices that Aurora is gone and she left behind a deck of cards and a Donjon card (used). Alexios and Alektos introduce them to Liv Asger, a nine year old Bragr-kin with a mysterious connection to a certain Cretian God. Alexios explains how they were tailing the water creature and found Liv's boat drifting in the sea. They brought her back to shore and that is when they came upon the rest of the party. Once introductions (and exposition) concluded, they were greeted by a murder of harpies eating a dolphin on shore. They slaughter the creatures, but Twinkle manages to somehow convince their alpha to take them up the 500ft cliff that surrounds all of Hyponia. Liv keeps falling off but eventually gets to to top. Kenshin, being a metal Samurai is not able to be carried by the harpy, and so they convince her to bring a stronger creature. She returns with a sphinx and Pebble bargains with the beast, offering a draw from the magical deck. The sphinx agrees and reunites the party, makes off with a seed of magical fruit, and they set off Towards Sophos for supplies before heading to Timaeus.    On the way to Sophos, Pebble picked up some wheat to make a cup of ale later. They went into an oak forest where they saw a statue of Artemis and an abandoned Horn of Bragr origin. Mist came upon them and the trees curved towards them. They were ambushed by the Oneiroi, Gods of Dreams and Tellers of Prophecies. Morpheus spoke to them and presented himself in many forms: Liv's Grandfather, Pebble and Twinkles Captain Achilles, and the Shogun Hiro Saki. Morpheus, Phantasos, and Phobetor used their powers to banish Alektos and Alexios, who did not have the special quality the party did: their connection to Gods. Morpheus tormented the group with threats, illusions, and magic in his twisted way to get them to help him. Liv attacked to no avail, as did Pebble and Twinkle. Kenshin refused to obey the god and so he was sent to Hiro, or was that an illusion? Morpheus told the group of a cult presence forming and their leader, Malexus wanted the Oneiroi for some reason. The Cult members are severed from dreams and thus the Oneiroi hold no power over them, and at enrages them.    After the party agreed to help, they were sent to Sophos with some gifts. After they finished reeling from the encounter, Liv got some answers about Zagreus from a bard, and Pebble and Twinkle reunited with the arcane bookseller Sven.   Who is this Malexus? What is the cult up to that severs them from dreams? What do they want with the Oneiroi? What are the party members connections' to the Gods? While these questions remain unanswered as of yet, the party settle in Sven's attic for some much need respite.
