SISTER2SISTER ADVENTURE #5 - 7/31/20 - Bye Bye Katyr

General Summary

Hotaru, Katyr, Vashe, and their hired brawn Sugissa were dropped off at the edge of the swamp by the Far Riders, and immediately headed south towards the small camp in the distance. There, they met a green dragonborn named Brouchila, who sold them alligator jerky and his navigational services to steer them towards their vague destination to find the brightly colored frogs for Nidja.     They were dropped off in a swampy, of course, place with tall reeds. Katyr, the nature-loving druid, stepped forward to check out the reeds for her herbal needs...but stopped at a scary rustling! She used her magic to part the reeds, and found a leafy ball monster in them! After a round of our unlucky heroines stabbing the leafy ball, it retaliated by shooting out vines to wrap around Katyr; pulling itself to her and wrapping her up and beginning to squeeze her to death! The others paused, but Katyr knew what to do... Suddenly there was a radiant golden light shining out from inside the ball, which then exploded in pieces around Katyr as she unfolded herself to stand. She brushed off the burnt plant pieces from her shoulder and determined they were not useful to keep.    The reeds, on the other hand, were dragontail fern; she harvested 4 bundles (2 for her, 1 for Hotaru, 1 for Vashe) and then rested a bit to catch her breath. The four then trudged along until they came to the place they were looking for: where the tree line meets the water. There, they found what looked like a frog village around a calm lagoon filled with lily pads. There were many little huts and a huge frog statue with a glowing yellow jewel the size of a melon. Vashe mind-whispered to Hotaru and Katyr that perhaps Nidja had tricked them... this definitely was going to be more difficult than finding some tadpoles in a pond...   Katyr sent her unseen servant to knock on the door of the closest hut, and a purple frog with a bow walked out! The four adventurers knew they had to be extra careful; Vashe snuck down to the water and stuck her head in to see what was there, and spotted two red gemstones at the bottom! Unfortunately she also spotted a bunch of green frogs patrolling, a HUGE gator-looking monster, and a humanoid chained to the bottom of the lagoon.   Vashe found that the lily pad closest to her also had small greenish-grey eggs underneath it, and was able to put one in her leather satchel before the watery disturbance she was creating attracted two green frog guards. She successfully snuck back out of the water, but Katyr didn't think she would make it so directed her unseen servant to bellyflop into the lagoon to draw attention away.  This new, very disturbing disturbance caused the frog village to go on high alert! Purple, green, yellow, and red frogs came out of all of the dwellings, as well as a large lizard-type creature. The adventurers decided to wait until nightfall to try again... but once it got dark, Katyr and Hotaru remembered that they need light to see (unlike the tiefling and dragonborn). Vashe carried everyone on her floating force-energy disk away from the village so that any snoring (or more untimely farting by Hotaru) wouldn't sound the alarm again, but as they were finding a nice place to settle for the night, they very suddenly had an adult green dragon land on them! WHAT LUCK!!!   Worried that the green dragon would eat the Katyr, as elves are its favorite delicacy, the three unlucky friends (Sugissa was silent) attempted to bargain with it. Katyr amused it so much with a song, that it decided to let her live and kidnapped her instead. It told the others to bring the green dragonborn (Brouchila) to it in exchange for Katyr, and soon for the elf may not be alive long...
