Session 07: Fat Rats Report

General Summary

The crew meets with Teremir, who convinces them to strongly consider backing out of Saurus' deal. She instead urges them to seek out a contact who may have more information on reaching the lower members of the Glynmyar, perhaps in an attempt to warn Mr. K of his impending assassination. While crossing the city to the Bazaar, they come across a shasy saleman atempting to debut a strange new tenchnology - the horseless carriage, driven by blackstome. While payne is unimpressed, explainging to the man and the crow that this technology is nothing new, the carriage slips into gear and chugs down the street. Kharis, Shaka, and Sel hop aboard, in an attempt to bring the runaway "auto-mobile" to a halt. Shaka turn the vehicle down an alley in an attempt to mitigate collateral damage, not realizing the alley's depth was limited. With the far end of the alley rapidly approaching, the vehilce careened through trash and debris. Kharis mvoeed to engage the locks on the wheels, where something snapped and squealed from below. As the wheels began wobbling, the vehcile picked up speed. As shaka attempted once more to shift the wheel, the automobile slammed into the brick wall of the alley, uppending over the trash piles and sliding on its side, slamming into a goblin caught in the crossfire. As the crew disembarked, Sel and Kharis dragging the bystander from the wreck, the vehicle detonated, becoing engulfed in flames and setting half the alleyway on fire. With the shady saleman's vehicle destroyed, the crew moved on, unable to help the man any further than their doomed attempt.

Once through the bazaar, where Payne comissioned tiny statuettes of Folly's End (and a few others), as well as a few pastries for Shaka, the crew pushed on passed the leatherworks, into the destitute domain of the Slats. here they followed signs of thieves' cant through the narrow streets. Before long, shaka caught wind of a second group moving through the darkness behind them, following the same trail. She informed the group, who laid in ambush for the rival group. as this crew filtered in to the courtyard, our heroes released an onslaught of magic and steel, making quick work of their surprised rivals.

  with the would be rivals dealt with, their quarry made himself known - ayoung halfling called the Rat Prince, sitting on a high balcony, cheering on the carnage, surrounded by his meagerie of rodents.
