Session 6 Report

General Summary

The party is standing in the aftermath of the late-night fight. There are bodies of several different zombies around. Zita decides to investigate the bodies. Dragging the bodies into the firelight, she discovers 60 gold worth of coins (copper, silver and gold), a locket with a lock of hair and a picture drawn in it, an oddly carved stone, and an amulet on the large cloaked figure. Yemi notices that the two armored zombies seem to be wearing the same armor as the guards who stopped them from leaving town. The rest of the night seems to go by without incident. The next morning, Huugar remembers that zombies can be created through specific rituals, or by the power of special spell casters who can raise the dead. The party explored the area to try and find where the zombies came from. Huugar found deep tracks of a wagon that’s been pulled through, fairly heavily laden. Ava found several mushrooms and had an enjoyable rest of the afternoon. Zita discovered a commonly used path to the North-West through the woods. They followed the trail through the woods. Along the way, Ava feeds one of the mushrooms to Yemi’s horse. The horse, panics – frozen in fear. Zita sits down with the horse for 10 minutes, and starts Speaking with Animals. The horse, Benjamin, is horrified – believing that Yemi is planning on eating it. Benji starts weeping. Yemi leaning forward to ask Zita what is happening spooks his horse which throws him. It bolts off, but Huugar is able to grab the reins. Once they have calmed the horse, they are able to continue on their way, stopping when they come to a large gorge. Yemi sneaks ahead and is able to see several creatures across the way. The small creatures and their slightly larger beasts speak a language no one in the party understands. They are hostile from the onset, and attack the party. The party makes short work of the small creatures, but after the fight the party is unable to find their way, with the battle having obscured the tracks that may have been present on this side of the bridge. They turn back towards the camp, at the camp they go through the various items they had left on the ground. Yemi picks up the amulet and the locket with the hair. Huugar takes the carved stone. The group continues along the road, following the wagon ruts, as the sun begins to set they come across a broken down wagon along the side of the road.
