Session 2 Report

General Summary

Having successfully defeated the abnormal vermin in the graveyard, the heroes investigated the orchard at the centre of town. Orchard apparently was a generous term for this unorganized grove of fruit bearing trees. Smashed fruit and torn up earth indicated signs of a struggle and while they were investigating the scene, they were attacked by creatures probably related to fire beetles. They dispatched these vermin without too much difficulty.   In search of some minor healing, they returned to Majara Pricknettle's apothecary. With their new knowledge of "yellow feet", purple slime, and the evidence from the orchard, they were able to convince Pricknettle of their sincerity in finding the location of the missing apprentices. She reluctantly gave them directions to her apprentice's house.   Approaching Gellion's house, the more observant in the group noticed a greasy substance oozing from between the shutters. Surviving a improvised trap of flying sharpened cutlery, they entered the main room. The place had been thoroughly ransacked with most items destroyed. As they explored the room, they were attacked by a strange creature that was later assumed to be a poor attempt at a homonculous. While vicious, the small creature did not pose a serious threat to the full group.   Upstairs, evidence of Gellion's descent into madness was found: messages on the wall written in blood, notes on his desk, entries in his mother's journal. They all pointed towards an unhealthy obsession with the ubiquitous puple slime. In Gellion's room, they were ambushed by an enormous spider but managed to slay it before it could poison anyone. Secured in the spider's web were Gellion's parents, unconscious but alive.   Reviving the parents, the heroes were pointed in the direction of an old warehouse as a point of further investigation. After delivering the parents to the temple of Bharnarol for recovery, the group returned to the Witch's End to rest for the night.
