General Summary

Shortly after waking up, Zikiass Briggs began his lookout duty for the day upon The Pearl Fence.
While patrolling the sky, Zikiass spotted a lone figure atop the cliffside northwest of Hemay's Fair. The figure was carving into a freshly hunted bear and processing both the meat and the fur/hide. Zikiass landed just a bit away and called out, "SQWAK What are you doing?"
After an uneasy back and forth of assessing each other's danger level, a sudden boom and sound of cracking wood broke the tension. Zikiass flew off to get a better eye on the damage and Rol'endu, the Ranger he had come upon, retreated into the forest to flank the sound and get themselves to a better position.

While getting closer to the scene of the noise, both Rol'endu and Zikiass saw a massive tangle of darkened wood - a Duality Warship beached on the rocky shore. The deck had been blown outward from a seeming forceful detonation inside the lower deck. The entire side of the ship had also been mangled and torn off in large sections against the Guard Watchtower further from shore. A small plume of smoke was visible rising from the flanking wall of the tower which was now tilted and slightly lower to the water's surface than before.   Zikiass and his fellow pirate crew went aboard to investigate. Zikiass sent the newest member of the crew, a stout gnomish woman named Pova Slapnip, to check below deck for any sign of who had been aboard and where they'd gone. She returned with the news that the entire bottom floor was spotless - aside from the damage of the explosion.   Zikiass, while pondering what this could mean, was informed by his bunkmate Hobson Proudmead that there was something in the Captain's Quarters. Zikiass approached the Captain's Desk, the only furniture aboard the vessel, and saw a note beneath a simple dagger inlayed with a shining green gem.   The note read, "The Duergar Own Azo'zic" in Fire Primordial using Dwarven Script. The dagger shown a smoky infinity symbol within the crystal that soon changed to a right-angular shape. From there it changed again to a circle with a rounded tail; which was when Zikiass realized the implications.   He rushed everyone off the ship with a few minutes to spare before the Captain's Quarters were blown apart violently, without fire or smoke, from the point at which the dagger was imbedded.

Barrion Pipegas - Captain of The Pearl Fence

Barrion is a male dwarven pirate with a large bushy beard, swaying limp, and removable fake hand. Barrion has been seen with a hand attachment with bladed fingers as well as a more unassuming hand that can close at the palm.  

Guark - Close Friend to Zikiass Briggs; Fellow Lookout

Guark is not magical in nature but is definitely charming, wise and charismatic. He's stronger and more built than Zikiass, as well as most Aarakocra, but not as agile. He is also roughly half a foot taller than most Aarakocra. His face is Condorian, unlike Zikiass's Eaglen Face, though they share a brotherly bond anyways.  

Hobson Proudmead - Bunkmate & Deck Hand

Hobson is a reliable human male, but also kind of slovenly. Hobson does not have or use magic but is just a good hand to have on board.  

Pova Slapnip - Lowest Ranking Crew of TPF

Pova is a rough and tumble kind of woman, a bit older in years, who left the simple life of the Gnomes for the adventure and travel that piracy offered.  

Carxius Sly - Deceased Companion to Rol'endu Bisse

Carxius once owned the dual blades that Rol'endu now carries with them.
