BT - Session 6: Edifying Revelations

General Summary

In the morning the party made their way to the Moon & Lyre to collect Valathar. The exhausted bard met the party bleary-eyed and a bit hungover, not recovered from his previous evening’s performance. Over a few morning drinks the party filled in Kent on all that had transpired over the last two days, and let him know that they wer at somewhat of an impasse.     Armed with that knowledge, Val went with Miko to see if he could have better luck speaking with Bethel Amber. The blacksmith remainded hesitant to divulge any additional information, until finally Val made it worth her while by commisioning a blade. Meanwhile, Miko chatted with Hannifen , doing his best to encourage her to start a Beantoter fanclub. In the process, he divulged that the entire line of the Applegates had been wiped out through the business with the slithering tracker and the curse tablets. Thankfully, some smooth talking on Valathar’s part ensured that word would spread.   With an address in hand, the party made their way to Scullion’s Row to speak with Emsan Stoneberry--the only lead Val was able to glean from Bethel. Emsan’s wife and small child opened the door and invited the tiefling inside. Emsan, upon seeing Val, blanched, fearing he would be arrested by the paladins of Bahamut. He readily confessed to creating a curse tablet against Bethel after she embarassed him in front of his family. Val assured Stoneberry that he would not rat him out as long as he paid his debts to the Amber Forge and swore not to engage in such activities again.   From there, Val and Miko headed to the Laughing Naiad, the location where Emsan and Borrin, the mysterious agent of the Black Hunter, had met. Terradissia greeted Val warmly, and readily agreed to help him after being informed that the odd man who left an open tab would be bad for business. Miko observed the interaction with rapt attention, thoroughly taken in by the air genasi. Terradissia turned over Borrin's belongings, including a few mystrious liquids and a lantern with strange arcane markings.   Meanwhile, Poe and Pamaris met with the denizens of the Platinum Chambers to try to glean more information on the Black Hunter. Assisted by Yaretzi, and eventually Miko, they were able to detrmine a pattern in the efficacy of the curse tablets. The powers aligned with the full moons, waning as the moons reached opposite phases. If that was the case, then there were only 5 days until the next Feast of Two Faces. Something had to be done quickly.   Howevr, taking on a powerful fey felt far beyond the scope of anything the party was prepared for. Miko’s enthusiasm was unmatched, but practical heads prevailed. The group, along with the paladins of Bahamut, began to plan their strategy to take on the Black Hunter.
