Session 9 In Flames Report
General Summary
With nothing left to do but wait; the party decides to waste some time. Diamond - Spade's personality counterpart - Decides to mess with the Deck of Many Things. the varying results include Diamond getting a -2 to all saving throws but inheriting a keep in Oberland so now he has leather dreadlocks and his black his armour has turned pale. Seth gets the Vizier Card and the Knight Card where Aruka Dionjon, A tall red tiefling battlemaster appears ready to serve the swashbuckler. Kayla fortunately drew the wish card granting her 3 wishes in the form of suns on her right wrist. Unfortunately luck turned around for her as she pulls a card that destroys all her magical items including her bag of holding that contained her gift of surprise. Fate decides to be cruel and inflict curses on all of them. Spade body becomes skeletal like and his armour becomes petrified. He also becomes more prone to losing his focus when he makes a kill. Seth becomes a Wight from his Mark of the Wight. His passive ability to see the future is also made more difficult as a certain demon is now interested in his path. He also has a chance to become frighten of fiends in great presence of evil. Kayla is now being watched by Maulnesh and she would become an Oathbreaker if she levels up to Paladin 3. She also has disadvantage against any Apostle she faces. After this array of Events; Spade decides to buy red paint to make him seem more tribal to avoid suspicion. Wanting to take their mind of things; they go on a monster hunting quest to hunt down a griffin and two chimeras. Seth takes down the Griffin fairly easily and levels up from his previous card drawn. The team make their way to a keep a fews away from Tutbury where it seemed to have taken some damage. the Jarl there explains that a Chimera pair has been terrorising his lands and he wants them to take care of them. Without much thought, the team follows the trail of destruction until they reached a scorched land. They find a small crater and upon investigation find a bloodied winged creature. Diamond obliviously plays around with the body while Seth realises that they are in a nest and notice two huge furry winged monsters stalking them in the sooth. Eventually the party realises their predicament and almost attempted to run. Seth manages to defuse the situation by dropping his weapons and was allowed to walk off without them. The Party rushes back to the keep and upon some interrogation, found out that the Baron has killed their pup and kidnap the other for his own amusement. Not long after the Elder Dragon pairs approach the keep. The team after much reluctance convinces every peasant and a few guards to flee the keep. The Baron and his estate are Obliterated by the combined might of the twin flames and in the distances they see a small pup being carried by Lunastra. Teostra who sees them flies over and offered his gruff thanks and speaks vaguely to Kayla of her Draconic Bloodline. They return to Tutbury to find that Grey Shadow has return and informs the team that the Apostles have been raiding the armed caravan. Before he could get anymore information he was attacked by two Apostles; December and new one he's never seen who could control the weather and summon aberrations. They plan on returning to Nyior to report their findings. Agent Milton request the team to escort Milady back as well. An hour after leaving, a soundless explosion blows up Tutbury leaving the passengers on the boat in dread.
