Session 10 New Problems Old Solutions Report
General Summary
Upon their return to Nyior, Havoc Squad is greeted by Captain Valentine and Jackal Squad who are armed to counter many of Spade's strength. A brief conversations reveals that the Oversight Division has been involved and Valentine and her team are there to escort him. Without much fanfare the party travels back to Command to meet with the Agent Kremer of Oversight Division. In the background is a man incognito who is later revealed to be the Director of Special Service & Intelligence. Kremer berates and gas lights Spade and his team for not completing his missions, gaining new information and letting a foreign citizen take custody of a criminal of the state. A triggering point for Spade is when Kremer criticises his failure in Mhusia that lead to the death of a Spectre. Spade in monotone rage counters Kremer that he wasn't there when all it all went down and its his team that putting their lives on the line while pointing out that people like Kremer don't know the danger that he's been putting himself in for the past 100 years. General Honda reels him back, reminding him that he is under investigation and should be professional about it. Spade relents but to add salt to the wound, Kremer arrests Grace for false identity and transfers Wilhelm to 10th Company on top of suspending the captain from active duty. As he leaves, The SSI Director makes his presence known to the team and offers his apologies on the matter. Not so Subtle he informs them that August the Apostles they killed 3 months back is apparently alive in Oberland. He offers the team a chance at redeeming themselves with the support of SSI via Milady but at the cost of going rogue. He gives them an Icosahedron device that they party affectionately calls Nily(Pronouce Nai-lee) They move to Spade's home to discuss private matters when Seth notices someone following them. They kidnap him and tie him up for the time being as they discuss they're next move. Seth interrogates the Oversight Division agent whose name is Clint Daxio who was tasked with observing them. Spade and Diamond have argument of whether to continue the mission and Diamond manages tpo convinces his personality counterpart when Seth uses Nily to bring up information on Abraham who died at the hands of the Apostles. He is labelled Missing In Action as his body has yet to be recovered. The team buys what they need before heading off; Diamond gets a Morphic Chainsaw that deals radiant damage, a heavy duty Arc-cycle with a large bag of holding to fit it in, Seth gets a prosthetic arm with a morphic cannon in it while Kayla buys armour and weapons. With battle wagon in tow they meet up with Milady who has charted the Airship De Rolo to take them to Oberland. Just before they leave however they decide to take Clint Daxio with him by kidnapping him so he may continue Observing them. (Spade uses a potion of flying and a spiked chain to wrap him up and take him up). A week into their journey they are ambushed by an adult red dragon. Kayla takes a potion of flying from Grey Shadow and attempts to talk to the dragon (and failing horribly). The airship takes heavy damage and its remaining crew members are force to abandon ship aboard the Battle Wagon. Milady goes back to get Clint who is in the Hold while Seth finds the Captain who's struggling to keep the ship afloat. He refuses to abandon ship and Seth makes the choice to stay with help as best he can. Spade and Kayla battled the dragon and manage to bring down it down but they had to watch the skyship crash into the hills. Kayla flies to the ship while Spade and diamond cut up the dragon's head and bring it towards the crash site. Spade and Diamond find the survivors in the battlewagon and uses his remaining supply of health potions on them while Kayla finds Seth in the crashed ship. They plant a small tombstone dedicated to the loss of the De Rolo.
