Session 8: The First of Many Report
General Summary
After successfully defending the safehouse, the party discovered that the attackers were simple bandits aiming to steal their goods and gold. After a brief respite, the party travel to a Planar Ruin where Borrokai is holding up. Upon further investigation they discovered the ruin is actually a holy site created by a Hoster deity called Trion who the pilgrims pray and hope one day would return to their world. The notable landmark of the ruin is a jade obelisk to which Seth recalls he saw in the vision. Borrokai and his freebooters protect the ruin and its temple in exchange for studying its history. The party paid their entry along with two groups lead by Sister Clarissa of the Church of Minstra and Scolar Brom respectively. Upon entry they saw that the landmark wasn't an obelisk but a shattered floating jade monolith. Seth looked beyond and saw the white tree in his vision and immediate ran to it. Upon touching he gets blasted back, his vision of a blue demon kneeling over a burning white tree with a monolith towering over it becoming clearer. Sister Clarissa manage to restore his hand and remove the curse but left a black spot and his mind unhinged. In the confusion, The party meets Borrokai, an Aasimar Monk and their lead on the Apostles. He brings them to an archaeologist who calls himself Knowledge Seeker. They negotiate for trading of information until everyone but Seth realises that they were being tracked via August's Harmonica. Shortly after, the Apostles attack temple and Seth - fearing of his vision coming true - rushed out to meet them. The rest of the Party and the two archaeologists follow suit, manage to turn the tide until the Apostle known as November the Mind Flayer appeared with reinforcement but easily beaten back. In a surprising move, he surrendered to the Seeker and promptly knocked out by Borrokai. After the Battle, Spade and Kayla tried to negotiate keeping November in their custody but failed and only upset the Seeker when Seth (after realising how the Apostle tracked them) tried to slip the harmonica into one of his pockets. With a hand off, the party is force to return back to Tutbury empty handed.
