Session 28: Deep in the Void Report

General Summary

Snyde wakes up dangling over the edge of a dark space. He discovers his friends are all unconscious and his undead have taken a life of their own. After dealing with the Undead. With not much choice, Snyde casts Sentient Undead on all of them with varying success as he helps them overcome their greatest nightmares; Ace fights his twin Diamond, Seth has to watch his family suffer before him and Prince is alone.   Each time he succeeds an entity of the realm takes notice of him and attempts to stop him. As the necromancer enters through the Soulscape one last time, He finds Kayla reliving a moment in her past where Zardos and Snyde raided her village. He spots himself and the guilt he felt only increases as he sees the moment where Zardos slays Kayla's family. As Snyde attempts to convince Kayla its not real, The Entity charms Kayla into seeing Snyde's past form and this launches Kayla into a rage. Snyde takes a beating but doesn't fight. He tells Kayla that he'll accept whatever she chooses to do with his life. Kayla, torn over couldn't come to kill her ally. Snyde takes the opportunity to drag her away back to real space.   He unfortunately couldn't bring back Dojo whose Divine Gate was farther then the rest since he comes from a different Plane. He leaves a claw for Kayla and tells Snyde to watch over her.   As they all come back to life, Snyde explains that he used Sentient Undead on them and they are technically undead. They all accept this at varying levels but decide that they can fix it later. He later revives an Astralnaut name David Hanselhoff who claims to be from the possible past. he helps them get back to the Material Plane by informing them of a Void Crystal nearby. Fortunately they were able to get back to where they first jumped in and the blackstones that held the party's soul shatters returning the souls to their original owner.   They eventually found their way out of the Rotten Section and made their way deeper into the Underdark. They run into a large mushroom forest that appears to be migrating somewhere. The Squad asks them for directions to some nearby citizens and they manage to find the hidden city of Blingdenstone. There the council lets them fight an Earth Elemental all for the sake of Entertainment. After a brief negotiation, the Deep Gnomes accept the trade agreement and the squad teleports back to Lighthaven.    They discover that they have been gone for 4 months and most of winter is almost over. They take a few days off before declaring the War Summit.
