Session 22: Through Monster's Alley Report

General Summary

The party wakes up on the fourth day of their journey, and they are at the beginning of Monster's Alley. Two stone pillars have the names carved of those who have made their way through the Alley, including Garth, Tak's uncle.   Traveling along the road, Voidheart sees a crater off the road where something seems to have crashed and landed from the swamp. He follows it without the others, and finds a dead dragon, Investigating it he finds a skeleton clutching a staff of defense. He returns to the rest of the party.   Half way through the trek of land they reach a popular stopping space, a fountain in an old elven ruin. There, they are attacked by a centaur-like demon with a serrated blade tail. Defeating it, they continue on their journey. As the village of Etera comes into view, an underground burrowing monster begins to chase the party. As they manage to get farther away from it they tire and it draws closer. The flying Garuman uses fireball to distract it and then a terrifying firebolt causes it to flee.   The party reaches the gates of Etera as night is falling. They manage to get let in even though the gate closed. One of the guards remarked about Shei, "isn't that the Spirit the Cobalt Watch is looking for?". The main guard tells Tak that there are rumors that the rogues of Crook Crag are plotting against Sirather. Sirather has already called the surrounding villagers to come in for safety.   In the village there is the Inn, "A Stop on the Trail" where the party goes to get rooms and gets some food. They meet the innkeeper, a half-elf woman named Evellan is the daughter of the previous owner. Her half-brother, Alfonso "Al", is half-tepac and shunned by most of the world. He serves as the night watchman of the inn.  Supposedly the father died from "mysterious circumstances".   In the morning Voidheart, Mika, and Shei go to see Sorona the mystic who is a hag in disguise. She does not seem to be an evil being, just trying to make a living. She trades items with Voidheart. Shei and the hag have a conversation where she says Shurrani may not be a good being to trust. Voidheart also agrees to give a letter to Epinina, Sorona's sister who is with the Order of Creationists on the Isle of Mystrium.   During this time Tak and Garuman go to Geraldine's Horsery and buy 4 horses and a miniature pony for Voidheart.
