Session 16 Report

General Summary

Coming to the druid encampment, the party finds that Garuman and Mika are bound by vines. Several cultists are chanting. They appear to be channeling energy into Fretrick. Fretrick offers to free one of the companions to help the others fight against the Wood spirit but only one. Astrid understands that her father has gone to the extremes and that he must be stopped. After Garuman is freed, Tak uses the "command"spell to cause Mika to be freed from her bonds. Unfortunately one of the druids spotted this and a fight ensues.   After defeating a few of the druids, Fretrick is killed, the black seed of corruption falls from his body. IT appears to be slightly like a lampre, with a mouth filled with razor fangs. The party recovers it and argues what to do next.   Ultimately they decide to send the remaining druids and Astrid to their home in the tree house and take the heart to the Wood Spirit. Arriving in the heart of the woods the party speaks to the Wood SPirit who is thankful for them returning it. Unbeknownst to them, the corruption of the Eteran lDomain has spread too much and the Wood Spirit wants to destroy the heart. After having the heart in hand, the Spirit throws it up into the air, where an invisible succubus is waiting.   She says, "Thank you for your service, soon we will be able to close the door for ever!"   The WOod Spirit attacks, Tak gets hit by the seed and it begins to burrow into his chest. Fortunately he removes it. After the wood spirit is defeated, the succubus fades to the etheral Plane and says, "I will not let you open the door... you foolish brave adventurers."
