Session 31: Don't Mind Us Hiding in Plain Sight!

General Summary

Session 25 SEP 2019: The guard elader, a human, recognizes Feng with negative consequences, and Lorin bluffs our way out of arrest but rather escort to their “processing” island using the “I’m just a girl with a Zanathar identification key” method. They pack all of us into a larger boat that will carry our entire extended group and take us to an island in the middle of the water. The island is heavily fortified with guards and militia. The guards are composed of many of the Underdark races.   Eventually we reach a two/three story tower with a single door in front. We are taken into this tower. Inside, we see cells! In one of them is a bluishj-gray gekko-like Lizardfolk skipping around his cell, with a long Churchwarden pipe blowing colorful bubbles and chasing a gloiwng beetle. We also see Det’s parents. Also, a human female in dark clothes and a half-elf in a quiet accepting pose.   We are disarmed (more or less) and placed in holding cells, while our weapons are placed in a sack and taken further up the tower. Det talks to his parents, while the lizardfolk (T’ok T’ok) picks Feng’s pocket. Det’s parents, whilst in conversation, draws the rune that was on my dice pouch!! I remember that here, in this universe, it is called Halaster’s Rune.   We formulate a plan to sleep (long rest) and effect an escape afterward.   In the morning, the guards come to fetch Det’s parents for the day, and he freaks out and casts Hold Person on all of them, which only succeeds on half. So, we’re now going to attempt a jailbreak into the town we’re trying to freely move in.   We win the fight! We raid the “evidence locker” and take a BUNCH of treasure. (700cp, 1200sp, 3200gp, and 11 gems worth 50gp each.)   Ae exit the jail, stealthily, until we get to the harbor. Det uses a water-bending spell to snap the chain blocking the harbor mouth and send a wall of water to the north tower. The group charges the south tower, kills everyone inside, and as cannonfire impacts the tower, Fiz casts Feather Fall on the group so we can quickly exit the burning tower.
