Session III Report

General Summary

The third loop begins, as all the others do, with Britney Spears.   Norros and Lark awaken in Norros’ townhouse and get ready for the day. Norros wants to make sure to buy watches for everyone before embarking on any adventures so that the party can be synced and know when the dragon attack is going to happen. He knows that, during loop two, the dragon’s breath weapon went off at 4:31:45, so that is their current deadline. Iris’ watch is not on the table, meaning that Magic Circle did not protect the watch from the time loop.

How much could one watch cost, 50 gold?   Austin
Iris and Gregory decide to take advantage of the Pruimont Library and research dragons; specifically, they try and research dead dragons and whether or not dragons can be raised from the dead.   There are multiple accounts about undead dragons, though no instructions or information on how to go about that particular ritual. Talking with one of the librarians yields the name of a book, Ye Olde Arte of Wyrm Reisinge, which is not in the library, but could possibly be found in a personal collection on the island of Cieyphia.
You get caught between Dragons, Romantic and Dragons, Necking. Mitchell, on Iris’ Natural 1
Gregory also discovers information about the Wasting Blight, the only documented affliction that has caused dragons to die naturally (i.e. not murdered in combat). This syndrome is not particularly well understood, mostly because dragons are hesitant to be examined in detail by most humanoids, but the general understanding is that something “wastes away” at their magic, and since dragons are, to an extent, magic itself given form, they then die. However, none of these sparse reports are from Wairwood or the surrounding areas.
What’s the worst that could happen? It’s Acolyte and Pelos!   …We should go collect them.   Lark and Norros
After Pelos sings his own version of Toxic (lyrics in full at the bottom of the session report) and Acolyte gets high and tries to talk to some maybe-dead bugs, the party meets up again to catch each other up on what they learned last loop. This included the fact that the white dragon spoke more like a wyrmling than in the respectful, authoritative way that is normally associated with ancient dragons, as well as the odd wounds frostbitten into the white dragon’s scales. Additionally, the party discussed the possibility of a lizard city under Wairwood and meeting up with Gimble Waywocket to discuss attempting to find said city.
There’s always a conspiracy gnome!!   Jefferson
Knowing that there was a cult of Tiamat that could be associated with this behavior, and that said cult had supposedly taken inspiration from many of Norros’ prior works, the party debates on ways to draw the cult out of hiding. Eventually, they come to a consensus that the best plan of action is for Norros Etoris, Renowned Dragon Expert, to host an impromptu book signing in order to lure his cult out of hiding so that they can meet him. All of Norros’ protests are subsequently ignored and dozens of flyers are made for this event.

Can we not refer to it as my cult?   Norros Etoris
While the party (minus Norros, plus two tiny servant skulls) make flyers for the book signing (despite the fact that Norros has only written academic papers and not a book), they continue to discuss various plans for the rest of the day. One plan, by Gregory, involves finding the underground lizard city, since lizards and dragons are very similar and perhaps the dragon that came from underground actually came from the underground city! This, of course, enrages Norros (even more) and he decides to teach Gregory the difference between a dragon and a lizard.
I wildshape into a giant lizard.   That was a fucking lizard!   Norros Etoris
Finally, since they have nothing else to do before the book signing at 2 PM, the party decides to skip eight sessions worth of plot try to investigate the few clues that they have. Along the way, they debate the ethics of stealing wrist watches so that they can all be synced up.
Ah, borrowing!   Pelos, on pickpocketing
As they walk, Iris casts Locate Object to search for dragon collars, and finds five of them approximately 40 feet under a house in the residential district. After much cajoling, Acolyte shoves a 100 GP diamond into his eye and casts Clairvoyance in order to see inside the room. Quinn takes about fifteen minutes to actually design the room and then informs Acolyte that he sees five chromatic dragon wyrmlings, all of whom are collared and unhappy, with ancient draconic runes impressed into their scales. Additionally, there are about 8-10 people in different colored robes with a variety of books and ritual equipment in front of them. The floor is inscribed with a three pointed crown surrounded by five symbols, which in turn surrounds a symbol he does not recognize. The session ends early because Quinn has to go make an entire dungeon.

Notes

Caustic (Fish Lips)
Darling, can't you see I'm calling?
We Sirens should wear a warning
It's dangerous, I draw you in

There's no escape, I can't wait
I need a bite, Darling, feed me it
I'm dangerous, You're loving it

Too deep, can't come up
Losing your breath, swimmin' 'round and 'round
Do you see me now?

With a taste of fish lips, I'm on a high
Neurotoxic, You're being paralyzed
With a taste of poison sealife
I'm addicted to you
Don't you know that I'm caustic?
And I love what I do
Don't you know what a siren is?
It's rather late to sail away
I have a taste from your bare nape
Slowly, the cold is numbing you

Too deep, can't come up
Blood in the water; it's all around
Can you feel me now?

With a taste of fish lips, I'm on a high
Neurotoxic, You're being paralyzed
With a taste of poison sealife
I'm addicted to you
Don't you know that I'm caustic?
And I love what I do
Don't you know what a siren is?
Don't you know what a siren is?

Taste of fish lips, I'm on a high
Neurotoxic, You're being paralyzed
With a taste of poison sealife
I'm addicted to you
Don't you know that I'm caustic?

I'm addicted to you
Don't you know that I'm caustic?

Mesmerize you now, with my singin' now
I think I'm ready now, I think you're bleedin' out
Mesmerize you now, with my singin' now
I think I'm ready now
