Session V Report

General Summary

The party lifts the heavy iron bar over the next door; it is also unlocked, and seems to be trying to keep something inside, rather than keeping intruders out. When they enter the holding room, they find 5 empty cages. One of the cages looks burnt at the bottom, which prompts the party to investigate them all, and each seems to have damage that is associated with a specific type of chromatic dragon (acid, fire, cold, lightning, poison). The cages are barely large enough to fit a young wyrmling. In addition, there seems to be an egg hatching area, though it's quite generalized rather than being oriented towards a specific habitat or type of dragon.   Also Acolyte picks up a pet rat.   Finally, the party prepares before entering what they believe to be the final ritual room. Norros leads, since this is (begrugingly) his cult. The remaining nine cultists (five of whom seem to be the leaders) proceed to interrogate the druid to make sure he is really who he says he is. Norros, of course, actually being Norros, passes this test with flying colors.   The ritual room contains quite a few areas of interest. The most obvious one, of course, is the large crown in the center of the room that Acolyte saw earlier with Clairovoyance. Scattered in small piles are an assortment of items that could match the ones depicted on the ritual symbol: daggers, goblets, pendants, books, tiaras, and an eclectic collection of seemingly-unrelated objects near the "swirl" symbol. They seem to be a mix of enchanted, naturally arcane, divine, and mundane items, with no rhyme or reason to how they are assigned.
