Session 01: The Drop Report

General Summary

After a night of drinking and fighting (as folks do) the party awakes in the drying out tanks of the lower wards (minus a certain half elf), where they come across a gentleman by the name of Tritus Redfang, a half orc merchant. Tritus had, the night previous, been sitting at a table of high rollers and had put his son up for collateral. And lost. Tritus claimed the odds were in his favor, and that he never would have put his son up if he didnt think he was going to win.   Through some intimidation and prying, Chuck and EV found that the item being gambled for was a deed of sorts - laying claim to a patch of land that supposedly held old warforged tech - what he kept calling an Ossuary. Tritus promised to have a Spellguard shield comissioned, 4000g, and a set of two blueprints - a wand of fireballs and a wand of magic missiles. Chuck made sure to impress upon the man that what he'd done was appalling, and that the deed itself was forfeit to Folly's End should they bring back Tritus' son.   The son in question is named Borus Redfang, and is now among the Cult of Mizzet, a curious group of wasteland denizens who have a hunger for pre-war artifice and magic. EV, knowing this group, gave a little insight.   Once out of the drunk tank, the 3 settled into the Rusted Ridge for a bit of breakfast and arm wrestling, planning their day's travel. The wood elf proprietor pointed them to a warehouse at the end of the lower wards, passed the train station and, surrounded by scrap and rock. The 3 brothers Shay, Valyn, and Killian, ran a tinkerer's shop, and rented various blackstone vehicles for explorers looking to cut down on travel time.    EV came across a familiar face from the brawl the night before - Killian had been the man she punched in the face. His nose was bent and his left eye was still black and blue. Despite this, or perhaps because of this, he had taken a shine to her, and while Chuck negotiated pricing with the other two brothers, Killian led EV to a back area of the shop, where he revealed his hobby - attempting to reanimate the corpse of a warforged. The scene was grisly, and bordering on barbaric. EV attempted to dissuade any further experiments in this manner, explaining that she'd tried the very thing he was attempting to little success, and that is was the wrong path. She left Killian with this information, and returned to the front of the shop, where Chuck's negotiations had led them to acquire a blackstone scrapper for half price.    With a blare of the horn, and the return of Cuin, who had skipped the fighting and gotten a full nights rest in a hotel, the 4 pushed onward into the desert, to the north, where a few hours ride away, the Cult of Mizzet workshop belched it's lightning and smoke.
