Mini 7: Goblin Defences Report

General Summary

2nd of Keltier 1524 Continued     As the statue crumbles and the lightning fades, Brienda sags a little against Galanith who carried her. The group decides to search the alter, then to take a moment to rest before leaving this place. There is a lot of coin here. Working together, they can be gathered. (1877 cp, 571 sp, 120 gp). Killi finds a number of gems (7) among the coins and two potion vials. Galanith finds three gems, a lantern of great quality and a scroll. The area is slowly becoming colder again now the fiend is dead.  


Meanwhile, an Anurian man is wondering around the mire. He's had a confusing few days as directions change and so does the world around him. It makes little to no sense. His orb of direction seems just as confused as he is. He takes some time to sit and observe the beauty of the ever changing world around him. A bird flies past and he decides to follow it. Maybe this is the way.  
As they rest, Isabelle keeps an eye out for any trouble. She notices someone walking in the mire nearby. She notches an area as he approaches. The man, calm in his approach, talks with the group. His name is Nobu and he is a traveller who has gotten lost due to some strange magicks in the area recently. The group explains about the fiend trapped as a statue that they recently destroyed and how a nearby town is having trouble with goblins. Deciding safety is best done in numbers and how Nobu might also be able to help with this, they start to travel together for now.   Isabelle has a rough idea about where they are in relation to Urgot's Den and Nobu has an Orb of Direction that they can use to make their way towards the town. They travel as far as they can before setting up camp for the night and taking turns with watches.   3rd of Keltier 1524   In the morning, the group gets up and starts to get ready for their day. Brienda and Balthazar have a moment where they talk mentally about how she is doing as he checks in on her as they set off to continue walking. They stop for lunch and then continue walking towards the town.   At about 4pm, the group arrives at a point where they can start to see the town over the tops of the trees. The town is on a raised rock face. It is surrounded by a wall. Balthazar sees smoke coming out from the town. They're not sure if this is good or bad. They travel another few hours to get to the forest edge and have a better view of the town. They can see a patrol on the wall, but details are hard to make out. They circle the town to the South to see the entrance is closed. They start to scout around, checking the East side of the town towards the North.   During this time they see a patrol dragging in an unconscious person through the gate. The gate has two gates. They don't seem to open both at the same time. The group decides to camp out in one of the abandoned and damaged farm homes. They move the dead animals and such out into the field to try and draw goblins out of the town.   At 9:30pm, near the end of Isabelle and Galanith's watch, a patrol of goblins come out to investigate animal bodies. The pair carefully wake the group and attack the creatures from range. This draws the attention of a group of goblins from the top of the gate.   During the combat the group is aiming to get one of the goblin's alive. They manage to kill three out of the four patrol members, but one is stubbornly fighting back while fleeing for their life. The group has also killed one of the goblins on top of the gate. Taking the group more seriously, the goblin's bring out a ballista to use against the group, much to their alarm as the battle rages on in the night.
