Session 35: Tea and Boarish Behavior
General Summary
Lysandrea Isillonthe lead a group of the attendees out to a light picnic and tea set out in a clearing not far from the Silver Lodge. Accompanying her were her sisters, Galianne and Marithienne, as well as her mother, Frangag. Sirbastien and Rochelle D'arlington attended, as well as Roslinda, Daihl, Keavy, Morgen, and Eliza. From the League, Ilbryen, Illevaere, Rivariin, Bronwynn, and Donk also attended. The setting was made with several blankets laid out under a great tree with tea and light snacks available as the gathered group talked with one another, those Sirbastien secluded himself from the group, choosing to instead read a book while occasionally looking over toward Lysandrea. Daihl also secluded himself, sitting out at a log by himself. It was quickly determined that Morgen's motivation for attending the tea was to feel out the availability of many of the ladies present at the celebration. Ilbryen approached Daihl and spoke to him. He admitted that this is not his typical social circle, but he worked to get an invitation to find out more about the D'arlington's adopted daughter, Lillian. He confided that he has a daughter whose mother was an orc, and he is finding it difficult raising her as she has grown older. He loved her mother very much, but her people did not agree with the union and so they stayed in human lands. After his wife's passing, he raised his daughter the best he could alone, but he feels like he cannot help her with aspects of her heritage. Knowing that Ilbryen is a part of the bride's cousin's adventuring group, he inquired if it would be possible to hire the group to take he and his daughter to the orcish village so that his daughter could meet with his aunts. Ilbryen agreed that it would be a fine task to undertake and Daihl happily suggested that he would contact them after the wedding. Illevaere spoke to Keavy, who is one of Lysandrea's childhood friends, but was isolating herself from the group. Keavy suggested that she was not fully accepted in the circles here, as she grew up with Lysandrea because she was the daughter of one of her family's servants. Lysandrea never viewed their difference in station as an issue, but Keavy is aware that the D'arlington family will likely be much more strict about social standing and therefore she views the wedding as a bittersweet endeavor as she believes that this will likely be the last time that she will b able to spend with her friend. Suddenly, the picnic was intruded upon by two giant boars and several regular boars, which made direct paths toward the people gathered rather than fleeing the presence of people. Sirbastien immediately moved out to protect Lysandrea. Illevaere protected Keavy and called forth a storm to bring lightning down upon the boars. Ilbryen moved to protect Daihl and used her magic to fell a beast. Bronwyn moved to strike down a giant boar headed for Morgen and then took down another boar headed toward him. Despite Rivarinn telling Donk to move away to protect himself, Donk threw himself on the ground screaming and groveling, which distracted the boars enough for Rivariin to get a better attack on them. Once the boars were defeated, the picnic was in a shambles and the group decided to return to the Lodge. Upon returning, they reunited with the hunting group and took a bit of time to wash up and change their dress in preparation for the dance. Everyone was given a dance card for the eight dances and a pencil to write in the names of those for each dance. Levi immediately took Tertius' card and scrawled his name on the top two lines of his card. Bolvaic tried to get Thalgion to write his name in for a dance, but he wrote his name in Levi's card instead stating that his card was now full and he had no room for the dwarf. Bolvaic asked for Marithienne to dance, but she declined, but agreed to allow him to sit next to her for the first dance. Aralmeni filled Bolvaic's third and forth slots, with Illevaere filling the fifth and sixth, and finally Lillian ending on the seventh and eight dances. Ilbryen was approached by Daihl who asked to join them for the first two dances. Illevaere took the first dance with Morgen, in order to give Bronwyn a bit of a reprieve from his advances, but then had Brady for the second dance, Bolvaic for the fifth and sixth, and Keavy for the seventh and eighth dances. Levi ended up having the first dance with Tertius and the second with Tiarjead. Thalgion was on his third dance and Lysandrea on his forth with Tertius again for the seventh and eighth dances. Tiarjead had Levi for her second dance, and Maximillian made certain to be on her card for the fifth and sixth dances. Tertius informed the group about "Spinster's Alley" where anyone without a partner could sit and be asked by anyone without much embarrassment--as it is better to be seen with a partner than none at all. With the flirting and asking for dances coming to an end, the group was led outside to the front patio which was set up for the evening's dances.
