Session 0.2: Devil in the Details, Boy in the Woods Report

General Summary

You've enjoyed a few relatively uneventful days, passing only pleasant merchants and traders on their way to Waterdeep or other locations to re-up on their stock. The sun climbs high into the cloudless blue sky, and the highsun heat beats down upon you in waves. To one side of you is a small copse of trees, and the other are the distant, sapphire waters of the Sea of Swords.
A bird flutters from a nearby tree, casting a tiny shadow beneath it as it circles around through the air. It seems to stay near you as you ride down the road, and eventually it alights upon a crumbling stone wall on the west side of the road. This raven cocks its head at you cocks its head at you and says, "Oi, you! You look like a damned sweaty traveler. Come over and let me help you out.
Ever skeptical, the group entertains the raven, but not for very long. The raven extends deals and contracts to each individual party member. Frustrated that they cannot understand the true nature of the Goblin, Jonesy, strikes out against the raven, and it poofs away.
The party rested for a moment, before departing.
Located up ahead in the shade of a tree just off the side of the road, you see a small child with his head thrown back, wailing. As you approach, he takes note of you, and fear in his eyes, he gets up and rushes off into the forest. With his small frame, he's gone from view within seconds.
Weighing the options of letting a child wander alone in the dangerous wood, or continuing down their path, the good in the party demand that they chase the boy down. It takes some assistance from nature, but they locate the boy, and he is bound to a tree by a Vine Blight, that was constricting him steadily.
A fiery fight later, the boy is saved from near death and the party heavily scrutinizes him, checking for any correlation between him and the Raven they had encountered earlier that day. They find none, but are suspicious of him anyway, as he has strange scarration and no recollection of how to he got where he was when they found him. They take him with them with the intention to drop him off at the nearest settlement.
