Isle of Salt Report

General Summary

The group resumed at the Nestled Knook Inn and had a hearty dinner and ale. Zenthan and Carver had the idea to look through the notice board for work while waiting for Selene to get back to them. Upon arrival at the city hall and notice board, they find a homeless looking Tiefling Bard named Dialyn. They agree to accept a task to hunt a winged beast outside of town. They took Dialyn back to the Inn with them and formed a party.   The next morning arrives and the party sets out to hunt the beast. They head in the direction and start to pin it down. Traveling through the expansive karsts to the north of Salt Isle, the party ask many travelers of any evidence to a winged beast. After a few hours of searching they stumble upon its nest. Having set up a hasty ambush and lying in wait for longer than expected, the beast is drawn into the trap. They dispatch the Peryton with ease and harvest it for materials, as well as beheading it for evidence of completion.    They bring it back to the city hall and meet the Magistrate to collect their reward. Afterward, they decide to follow-up with Selene and head back to the Institute of Mogia. After conversing with the reception desk, they learn that Selene was relieved from duty. They learn of her residence and seek her out, hoping to gain what information she might have found.    Selene tells them she found a book that was supposed to be controlled and brought it to the High Researcher who promptly confiscated the book and fired her. She mentioned the book referenced a diety she had never heard of before; one called The Drowned God. She doens't know what happened after but knows she will now have to leave town.    The party heads back to the Institute and investigates. Carver wildshapes into a spider and infiltrates the restricted areas. He found the office area with a locked door at the end of the hallway, where the High Researchers office is, and that an old dusty bookshelf lines the archive. Dialyn and Zenthan look into the public side of the Institute. Dialyn looks up: Zenthan looks up: known dieties Meanwhile, Colyn heads to the local bookstore, The Bookworm and looks up information about local beasts and:   Afterward, the party regroups at the Nestled Knook Inn and formulate a plan after compiling all of the information. They plan on staging a heist within the Institute to hopefully recover the book and determine the nature of the High Researcher.
