Session 11: The Forgotten Tomb Report
General Summary
The session began with some of the party waking up in the middle of the night. Zeal attempted to take the letter which Orion had received from Reima, failing to do so due to his drunken state. The party then overheard an argument occurring outside of the Inn, where they sorted out two individuals arguing at each other, one claiming to be a "Dovrenist", whilst the other claimed to be a "Pusilist". Both Zeal and Aes split the two, sending them off on their way, whilst Orion looked, entertained. They later made their way to the location of which Reima specified, but not without noticed figures going in the same direction as them, unable to work out any details. They then made their way inside the tomb, coming across a rickety rope bridge which seemed to be on its last legs. They luckily made it across with any issue, with Aes just about making it after breaking some planks after jumping. They eventually made their way inside, and heard some skittering overhead in a balcony - something is their with them. Orion then sent his familiar towards a library of sorts, where it was able to pick up a leather-bound journal of sorts, which contained logs about another group which had been their months prior, and the horrors they experienced and were tormented by during their time in there. They then found themselves in an altar room of sorts, where Djinnferno activated a trap, which give him minor, inconveniencing burns which unbothered him. The group then made their way to the library, where they fought swarms of animated books which seemed to come to life due to magical means. After they returned to the main area, they noticed a barrel randomly appear and cautiously approached, and the barrel revealed itself to be a mimic, taking down Djinnferno before it was swiftly removed by Zeal. They then continued, finding the bodies of the formerly mentioned previous tomb divers, stripped of the skin from their face and their bones crushed, and Zeal nearly being crushed by a boulder from a trap they activated. After this, they found levers which lead into an armoury-like room which had a puzzle they needed to solve. After fighting a guardian which seemed to guard the burial chamber, they found the correct solution and made their way into the chamber, taking a book made of skin, cold to the touch and eyes embedded in it. Reima named this book as the "Libram of Souls and Flesh", which she said she would take to study, to see if it was dangerous or useable.
