Session 28: Hunger In The Dark Report
General Summary
The session began with the party heading through the long travelling system of Dreisdunkel mine. They were attacked on the rails by Draconians, easily dispatching them as they reach their destination. As they stopped at the end of the tunnel, they headed down a claustrophobic tunnel but ended up a collapsed area. Orion sent his Owl familiar to investigate further down the tunnel throw a crawl space beneath the rubble, where he heard ritualistic chanting and a voice screaming in agony. Aes lifted the rubble from the tunnel, allowing the party to pass and head towards the noise. The party rushed into the ritual room, catching the Draconians off guard, as well as an Iron Legion automaton who appeared to be with them. The party pushed forwards, protecting Galliard as he pushed the minecart forward towards their objective. The automaton jumped down, and let out a stream of hot magma across the room towards Aes and Zeal, destroying the rails in the process. Aes quickly picked up the minecart and placed into position due to her now large size. The party quickly began to run for the exit, as Draconians began to arrive from the tunnels that lead into the ritual room. Aes activated a rune of her palm at this moment, as the ground began rupture in front of her and the arms of the dead began to grasp at the Draconians. During this time, the ritual also became complete, and an abomination was created. This increased the tension, and the party hurried to the exit as Geraldt blew up the Kobstone barrels, collapsing the cave as the party escaped just in time. The party then returned to the Keep, where they rested for the night.
