Session 45: To step into the dark Report

General Summary

The session began with the party heading to Helmgart to speak with the Queen. On the way there they were spoken to by a man in ragged white clothes, who was an emissary of the god Shallya, The Spear of War. He directly spoke to Aes, speaking cryptically but was speaking about Aes handing over the book in her possesion, and she would be forgiven by Shallya if she does. Aes told him that she would think about it and the party continued heading towards Helmgart.    There they met with the Queen, who was somewhat angry at the party because of what happened the evening before. The Queen had reports from her guards that Aes and Orion had been seen with the creature who had torn a hole in the ground and partially destroyed part of the keep and caused buildings to be destroyed in the Parish Sector. She pulled the party aside to the council chamber, and told them she would think of a punishment in the meantime since their boat to the spire of the gods was to be ready soon. They needed a little longer to get the boat prepared, so the Queen sent the party on a mission to a hidden hideout where Cultists of the Weeping Pox had kidnapped a Council Member.   The party investigated the old fishery where they had taken him, and found a hatch which led to a wine cellar. There they found two cultists writing names on a piece of paper who tried to run after telling three people mutated and diseased by the Weeping Pox to attack, one of which made a hole in a wine barrel and another threw a torch onto it. The cellar lit up in flames and as the party dealt with the infected, Orion used binding ice to clear a path for the party to get past the cellar and into the cove where the cultists had the councilman. The party tried to hatch an escape plan with Dimension door, but Orion was counterspelled by who seemed to be their leader.   Combat then began with many of the unarmoured cultists easily taken out by Zeal and Geraldt. Aes rushed forward to deal with the leader and save the Councilman. Orion was stranded alone against one of the armoured cultists, but was able to deal with him alongside Geraldt, pushing him into the water where he was devoured by ravenous fish.   After saving the councilman, the party brought him back to the Queen and then got their ship named "The Pegasus". The party then headed off with their crew to the Spire after a peaceful journey
