Session 47: Illuminance in the Luminous Arcana Report
General Summary
The session began with the party leaving the lair of the Forgemaster and heading across the hanging bridge across the chasm. Half way across, a segment of the bridge began to collapse, but luckily all the party members were able to get to the otherside as the segment of the bridge fell to the bottom of chasm with a loud crash. The party then made their way out of the Gloomsdeep Forge to return to Velitha Moonshadow with the Lexicon of the Infused Celestia. When they returned, the fighting between the Empire of Tenebris and the Lizardmen had resumed, and Veltith was packing up her things. She told the party to follow her as they had to evacuate to the upper level, the Astral Heights. She traded the book for the amulet they were after, before opening a portal and disappearing. Soon after, the Maiden in Black appeared before the party and used the Amulet to bring them to a place known as the Luminous Arcana, a huge library. There they spoke with a giant two-headed bird, named Kairos the Fateweaver, who was the overseer of the Luminous Arcana. There they asked him a few questions, mostly about how to find the Blood Lord's Jewel but also about their futures since he could see both the past and the present. Kairos also told the party that the Maiden in Black is more than meets the eye and Zeal seemed to recall about a legend that those who had no eyes and had black wrappings on their body were apparently catalysts for something. The party then followed directions from Kairos to find a ring belonging to a high disciple of the Blood Lord that gives access to the Temple of the Abyss, where the Blood Lord's Jewel is located. The party headed to the Astral Heights where Zeal and Geraldt scouted out the location before returning and infiltrating with the rest of the party. Geraldt had the party hide in two bags of holding and snook into the building where he waited above a meeting room on the beams above. Below were disciples, discussing defences for the Astral Heights. After they left, they dropped down and Orion turned Zeal and Geraldt invisible as they searched for the high disciple. Zeal found him in his chambers, and he worked with Geraldt to slip the ring of his finger easily. The party quickly left the building and escaped to the entrance, where the Maiden in Black brought them back to the intersection between the Astral Heights and Gloomsdeep Forge.
