Session 19: Against the Grain Report
General Summary
The session began with the party vaulting over the wheat field fence to where the Knopfelspiel mill lies. Orion began with sending his familiar to scout overhead, spotting multiple Draconians hiding, in wait for an ambush. They flanked the right side of a stable next to the windmill, where they caught a draconian bearing a man catcher and a hound beside him off guard and began to attack, making sure to be quiet. They killed the hound, but the Draconian retreated and rang a bell, alerting the rest of the Draconians by the mill. After a while of combat, they heard shouting and the clashing of steel from the other side of the stables, discovering later that this was Karl Fritz and two more guards who were under Lord O'keefe. They were apparently hiding in the windmill after they escaped from the estate and were waiting for a good time to escape until the party came along. They then sent the two guards to escort the three soon-to-be slaves back to the war camp. Karl then offered up his loyalty to the party, which they gladly accepted. The party continued, heading to Holzfrucht's Orchard, where they met the plant that had followed them beforehand, whom belonged to Old Long Logan, an old druid they found in a well. He communicated to the party through the plant and agreed to head towards their keep as a new home, since his well was invaded by the Draconians. The party then continued through the Orchard, reaching the Sog-mire barn, where they found it lightly guarded by Draconians, but found out that a terrible creature was awaiting in the barn - an amalgamation of flesh and limbs that was of nightmare.
