Chapter 1: The Dipshit in Distress

General Summary

4th Age 0020, 17 of Aine        An unnamed Adventurer and Talo Momoe were wandering an otherwise vacant road west and south of Seven Towerton, Malkier. The unnamed, masked adventurer had come from the north, Talo had come from the west--no doubt after finishing up an upholding of the Dragon's Peace, otherwise known as assassination. However, another adventurer, namely one called only "Marius" was not enjoying a leisurely stroll. He was currently swinging from a Trolloc's hanging pole, being prepared to go on a spitroaster. Luckily, upon hearing his desperate cries for help, Talo and The Unnamed Adventurer rushed in to help. They snuck in to get a better look and saw a naked aiel man being tied to a spitroaster and rotated slowly over a fire.         Here, The Unnamed Adventurer, although large and bulky, and seemingly unable to speak, showed off impressive sneaking skills and strength and was able to sneak into the encampment and push a mature tree over onto a trolloc, killing it instantly. The fight was intense. The adventurers were unseasoned, but held their own against 5 trollocs. Finally, Talo was able to go free the naked man from the spit roaster. Together, they dispatched the remaining trollocs. Before they could make their introductions, however, they heard another man in the bushes grunting and yelling. It turned out to be Eleadrir Merrilin. The son of Thom Merrilin and Moiraine Sedai. He mentioned Seven Towerton and The Slaughtered Hog, an Adventurer's Guild created by none other than Lan Mandragoran nearby. Before he could finish speaking, however, a dark hound rushed the group. The Unnamed Adventurer seemed to recognize what to do. He fled across the river, where the other adventurers followed and watched as the dark hound paced back and forth on the other side of the river. While they were regrouping, The Unnamed Adventurer found a secret stash in a hollowed out old tree.        Talo ended up opening the chest inside, which contained what they later discovered was a power-wrought dagger. Then, something highly unexpected happened. The unnamed adventurer rushed back across the river! Not only were the others taken by surprise, so was the darkhound. The darkhound didn't seem keen on attacking him, either. He then started cutting chunks of hair off the trollocs he had killed and threw them in the fire. At this point, the other adventurers felt they owed it to him to go help him. They were immediately attacked by the darkhound. Marius shoved a spear up its arse to no avail. However, one measly swipe from Talo's dagger dispatched it and it melted into a puddle of black goo with only teeth and claws remaining.        After approaching The unnamed adventurer, they saw there was a chest in the cave. Marius opened it this time and all it contained was a stone. However, it was some kind of mystical memory device. He gained a boon in the form of a free beginner tier skill of any non-prestige class or craft. They then met back up with Eleadrir and continued to Seven Towerton.   At the same time, the extremely famous adventuring noble named Janduin Al'Thor Shar'Dragon was in the process of carrying out an agreement with the white and black towers. Namely to form an elite army capable of eliminating the evil in the blight once and for all. His travels took him to Seven Towerton. Known as the greatest hub in the fight against evil, he visited The Slaughtered Hog. He scouted some talent, but upon sitting down to a nice meal, was approached by a women. She tried to sleep with him, but he was wise to the ways of the enemy and turned her down. After a bit of disappointed dialogue, she got up to leave and after walking past him, turned to hurl a fireball at him. However, Janduin is always holding the source. He had long learned to detect the goosebump feeling when a female takes hold of Sai'dar. He avoided the fireball as the channeler and 6 more hooded figures beset him. It was not long lived. Janduin is known for his skill in controlling his weaves and between his Gales of Life and Death and his other skills was able to easily dispatch the foolish people. However, curiously, he accidentally hit a bystander who was just walking in the building with a weave of air. This is unusual for Janduin.    Upon checking on the poor, ugly, trolloc-darkhound-and-parsley smelling brother-of-an-aiel, he saw that he had rendered him completely unconscious. With a quick effort he lifted him to his feet and healed him. Beside him were another aiel, Talo, and an unnamed adventurer in a mask who smelled and moved very unnervingly. Janduin made more effort to uncover this man's secrets, but couldn't get far. The adventurer couldn't seem to speak well at all and didn't respond to any social queues like he even understood what was being said. However, upon questioning Talo Momoe, Janduin concluded that the mysterious adventurer must've come from the direction of the blight. Which is very interesting, because it's a difficult task for any single man to live long in the conditions of the blight, even though much of the fauna had been returned to a....semi-reasonable state after the re-sealing of the dark one.   The Adventurers went to sleep. Again, Mask Man had a large sum of money but didn't seem to have any idea how to use it. Upon awaking, they approached the guildmaster, Godfrey, about the purpose of the guild, etc. In spite of it sounding a little like a ponzi scheme, they decided to sign up for the guild. It paid off pretty quickly as they gained valuable information about the power-wrought dagger from the Guild Blacksmith, Hermin, and a Evadne, a channeler for the 2nd place adventurer group named Hearth League.   They jaunted over to the academic quadrant of town and found a shop that could identify the dagger. It took several channelers, but they finally identified it and also found a channeler who was willing to buy it for 65 gold crowns. With a little change in his pocket, Talo headed back to Hermin's to buy a new power-wrought spear. Hermin made a mental note that this particular adventurer seemed to be equally, or perhaps even more "on the spectrum" as they call it, than the unnamed masked man that was the talk of the guild after bum rushing a guard to play with his shield the last night. Talo was VERY fixated on the spears and demanded to know EXACTLY how effectively he would be able to wield each one, once purchased. Hermin pointed out that he was a simple blacksmith, who cannot channel. Even if he COULD channel, all he can tell him is how much the spears weigh, and what they're made from. Does a seemstress know how many women a man will take with a new shirt? Does a shoemaker know how fast one will run and how high they'll be able to jump with new footwear? Again, this person seems to be a few trollocs short of a fist. After telling him PRECISELY every detail about every single weapon in the store, he finally bought a spear. If this guy ended up not having enough money, Hermin was going to have to report him to Godfrey, because by the light, this guy was annoying.    End of chapter 1
