Session 2: Traps and Triumph

General Summary

Date: Kelvakna, Stillspring 29, 254 Location: Coskurt, Rodian Empire   Over breakfast, Liaueld and Morchella decide to travel together after their current job is done. The pair check in with Captain Qienene and he introduces them to Zhito Glavchev, an inspector with the IBMO.   They are to take the inspector to the Standing Stones. On the way, they pass by the same area that Liaueld encountered traps in three nights ago. Morchella inspects a stone being used for target practice, while Liaueld triggers a snare. Liaueld is not captured but does take damage from the counterweight.   The traps are being set by a boy who is in the woods because his mother disappeared. Morchella convinces him to go to town and ask Captain Qienene for help.   About 17 miles upriver, the river enters a small canyon area. Liaueld notices a crack in the wall she hasn't noticed before, it looks like there may be cracks all through this, sort of a giant boulder field that spreads out a quarter mile or more.   There is a trap in the gap, magical glyphs preventing anyone from passing through. The three investigators go over the top of the boulders using climbing gear and get behind the trap. Morchella finds a pouch of silver coins, Protectorate coins, not Empire.   The characters explore the gullys behind the canyon and find a cave. There are two cultists in the cave, which they fight. They kill one and Zhito casts Geas on the other. The party returns to Coskurt with their prisoner and a fair amount of loot.

Missions/Quests Completed

Mystery of the Standing Stones is now in the hands of the IBMO, although who knows if the cult will surface again?
