Chapter 9: The Long Day Part V

General Summary

Once the party returns to the village building, the Village head dons to Allanon a note as well as a box. Inside the box was a magical artifact called Cube of Incabulos, an artifact of the God of Plague and Death, Incabulos. And in the note was a warning of death to all things if the Cube was to stay. Not allowing this, Drake takes the box and make his was back to Elam while the Party takes their time to go farther east to Balista’s River. The First to arrive is Silver, where he witnesses a massive amounts of Undead that fill the gorge. Floating on a pillar inside the gorge is a man in black clothing. Without wasting time Silver challenges this man, knowing he is indeed the Necromancer. But Silver’s strength was not enough, and he lost his life to the undead army. Allanon and Ash finally make their way east, where they find a hidden passage as Drake makes his way to their location. Once gathered, the trio then make their way into the underground location where they face off against the Necromancer who organized this dastardly plot, and a risen Silver and Avarious. They learn that in his possession is the legendary artifact, The Staff of Pelor, the God of Life and Light, corrupted by a pyramid like object, The Inverted Pillar. They promptly defeat the Necromancer, but only for a shot while, for the purple fog revives him as well. With nothing left, the party opts to try and destroy the now corrupted Staff of Pelor to no avail.
