Chapter 5: Beginning of the Long Day

General Summary

After 5 days of rest, the party is tasked by the Mayor of the town to find and bring back a murderer who has killed one of the servants of Lord Artip. A reward of 250 Gold Pieces are to given if the task is completed. Following the lead of heading east, to Elam, the party encounter strange scenes. The sky grows darker and the ground more black, as if a blight is on it’s way, a dark omen. While in between the pass, the party is jumped by bandits. But isn't’ long before the ground gives in.   Moments of unconsciousness pass, and the party wakes up in a cave system guarded by a giant spider. After an ingenious combo move by Silver and Allanon, the party continue on unscathed. Traversing through the underground dungeon, the party find it crawling with Skeletons that wish for them to leave. During the crawl, Allanon dies, but is miraculously revived by mysterious means as a zombie. At the end of the dungeon, the party finds a journal, telling of a foreboding future.   “I've done it. I know what I must do. The miasma, with it, I shall be able to complete my task and avenge him. The Town of Elam will be the first to be subjugated. If this works, no creature alive will be able to resist.” Realizing that this entry dated back two days, the party set out looking for an exit. After finding a wizard’s portal and leaving the dungeon, the party is met with a horrific view. The sky is painted pure black, and the ground turning into sand and dust. And in the air, a light purple fog filled its space. And in the distance, the town of Elam, on fire.
