Chapter 6: The Long Day Part II
General Summary
After entering the city, the party is surrounded by zombies. Unknown to him, Allanon is saved by a mysterious force, and brought to safety. Here in Elam lies the Citadel of the Greyhawks, led by the Head Greyhawk Priestess herself, Lady Devorah. Here, Allanon is told of the situation. The dead rise and those who die also rise. The world as they know it is in danger for an unknown reason. The city rots and the sky no longer emits sunlight. If something was not to be done, then the world my fall into entropy. The only clue to what is going on is the purple smog that flows on the ground. Within the midst of all this, Allanon finds the rouge butler they were after. However, he supplies them with cryptic information, that the current Lord Artip is not who he says he is. Allanon takes this information lightly, allowing the rogue to live unless he finds that he’s been telling lies. Before anything else however, the people of the Citadel were starving. Devorah first tasks Allanon for finding food for her citizens, and sends three others to help. Joining Allanon and Silver on their adventure include Ashton Lee, an elven wizard who has a knack for throwing big spells too quickly, Drake Delinhol, a cleric apprentice of Devorah and worshiper of Pelor, and Donk Memes, a large, strong, brute who knows his way around a great axe. Setting off, the party find that dealing with the undead citizens may be harder than they thought.
