Chapter 3: Legends Untold

General Summary

During the day, the party witness some kind of parade that honors the noble of the town, Barron Artip Lardye  and his family. Artip shows strange behavior, as if scared of something, but none seem to notice such actions. Continuing on, Avarious investigates the town while Allanon searches a nearby forest. Coming up with nothing Allanon returns to the event of the Noble of the town and his family being attacked by Kobolds. After saving them, investigations resume post haste. Avarious, at night, found a hint of song being played during kidnappings. However, the guards are busy, rushing to the gates to deal with Kobolds, so the party arrest a suspicious Elven Bard named Imloft, who, was at the scene of a kidnapping on their own.

After realizing they don’t have any leads, the two sit down and think, to where they are inspired by a Godly presence to talk to the Bard. There, they learn of the Legend of the Harpy, a creature that has descended from elvan blood and is now cursed with the body of a bird. It is known for its magical song that can control the mind of others to do it’s bidding. Putting everything together, they realize that a harpy must be behind the kidnappings, using the Kobolds as a distraction.
