Session 10: Circle above Rundkjøring pt 2

General Summary

As Lupin, in bear shape falls from his balcony, a shadow flickers in front of the full moon. The party watches in horror as their arch nemesis Hanefar, riding on his pet wyvern, lands on top of the cliff in front of them. They're petrified as the old man walks up to them, studying their terrified faces, as he bursts out in evil laugher.   "So, you're not an easy group to find, but I finally managed to do so. And do you know how? Well, of course not..." He raises his staff, and his tone gets more angry and impatient. "Now, I've wanted to find you alive for one reason. Tell me, where is my Egg hidden? I know it was you who ran off with it, and I want it back! Tell me now, and I'll make sure your deaths are painless!"   As the old priest is about to cast some horrifying magic upon the party, Smog desperately makes the entire area go silent. That at least buys the rest of the group some time. But before anything else happens, Jean, facing the moon and finally regaining conciousness, transforms into a huge beast, and comes to the party's defense, leaping onto their nemesis Hanefar.   Together, they tumble off the cliff, into the darkness, and the heroes are facing Hanefar's wyvern, alone.

The party enters Castle Lupin and follow a trail of blood up to the second floor. As they do, some of the castle interior attacks them, and after a surprisingly difficult battle, the party has to rest for a while before opening the huge double doors in front of them.   Inside is the old ball room, now made into a library, office or living room for Lupin. The trail of blood leads directly to Jean, who is lying on the floor in front of huge windows going all the way from floor to ceiling. The full moon is starting to shine inside. Jean is barely councious, and besides him, the group find a letter. Before they can start reading, a gigantic bear attacks. Count Lupin turns out to be a werebear, and he's defending his territiory. It's a tough battle as no weapon seems to hurt him, but the group manages to push him off the side of the balcony, down a cliff that's at least 160ft/50m tall.   As Lupin falls, Hanefar swoops in, riding his gigantic wyvern, dressed as a chicken. He seems relieved to have finally found the players, and grins in an evil way as he explains he wants them alive, so they can tell him where they hid his precious Egg. He promises them a slow and painful death if they refuse to talk. He's about to release some horrific spell, as Smog casts silence on the entire area. Hanefar looks confused, just as Jean leaps from the floor, transforming into a werebear. He tosses both himself and Hanefar off the cliff, as the party are left to fight the Wyvern alone.   The wyvern goes down after a tough fight, nearly killing Smog in the process. The party goes on to study the letter from Jean. It tells about some person living in the castle basement, who shares the same goal as Hanefar. It also mentions someone called "Hunk" mobilizing the orcs in the west, and how forces from the north also wants these orcs to deal with "the blind woman". Finally it reveals someone called Setag Xut, lord of the seagulls, who also wants an artifact known as "Luna's Tear" to get his divinity back.   The party starts searching the castle, digging out a few skeletons and mimics in the process, but nothing major. They go back down to the first floor, to find the basement entrance...
