Session 2: Northwest Report

Androvin Horelis, Flynt Coal, and Octavius gathered together at Gallows Rock to begin their exploration of Vestidia under the employ of Lord Folkmer Rohnaar.

They set out on their first day, and after a few hours of travel came upon a camp of slavers who were from Astoria. The turmoil in the south made it a perfect picking ground for fresh slaves. While this offends Octavius, who is a man of Corgastor, the rest of the party is not morally stirred. If Octavius were to try and free the slaves it would be one man against no fewer than eight, and that was a veritable death sentence. Androvin, who was known to his party members as simply "the Masked Master", spoke to the slavers about their morbid work whilst under the shadow of sad slave eyes, and he did not care. He bid them farewell, and Octavius was left ashamed and out of favor with his god.

Leaving the slavers, the party moved a bit father north before settling for the night. The slavers had informed them of a forest that existed to the north that took up a large portion of the central plains land. It was also located near a fort, so the slavers told them. The party was intrigued, and was determined to reach those destinations within that day or the next. As the night fell the party was content with the amount of ground they had covered. Better still, they had reached the sought after forest and were able to camp beneath its boughs as the night began to roll in with a chill. They pitched their tents alongside the Great Dike of Dorithin, built by King Renfed the Bloody to connect the capital of the Roldorian march with the outside world, thus making it a more valuable stronghold. It was a fine spot for a camp, as the ground was solid but smooth dirt and a source of water was only a step away. Over the course of the night, however, at roughly 4:00 in the morning, the Mask Master was woken from his sleep by what sounded like an outside rustling.

The party continues along the forest edge and fight some vicious skeletons.

The party moves a day further and that night meets Desmond Renoux (but he calls himself Marquarius Vex), a spy or assassin from Everos who was after a man named Ragnald who fled north away from authorities. He joined the party as a means of getting money and work while in Othos.

The party moves north another day forward and at noon encounters a regiment of Astorian Reeves fighting a roving host of demons and Zjolmar. The party assists, but Desmond is hit hard and sent flying twice, and the Mask Master is his once with a solid ball of fire. Octavius is bitten deeply by a demon, and Flynt sustained no significant damage at all. Afterward, Captain Tellius of Andulon told the part of some useful map locations and that they were heading southward to visit the lord of Dornum.

The party departed the Astorians and moved northward further, reaching the northern limits of the forest. Unfortunately, their rations were beginning to run low, many of them were wounded, and they were far away from civilization. Wishing not to die, the party trudged back south, back to Gallows Rock.

The party encounters the slavers again, who recaptured Tacia. One of the prisoners told Desmond he knew where Ragnald was, but the party did not believe him and lacked the coin to buy his freedom.
