Session 56: Filth and Family

General Summary

So, we got out of the Forests of Slaughter and into the Far Realm Cysts. Janey disabled a summoning circle, and everybody but me needed some “happy water” to get over the headache that thing brought with it.   Now, the only place for us to go is into the “Prison of Filth”, because we haven’t found a contact stone to attune our Glyph Keys yet. It certainly lives up to the name. Good lord, is it filthy here. So filthy, in fact, there’s no less than 5 Otyughs in here. Long story short: Duldar gets bullied a LOT, we kill 3 of them, and leave the bodies for the other 2. Who were smart enough to figure out we were not joking when we said approaching us was just going to get them hurt.   After that unpleasantness, it’s time for the next room. With shadowy walls and a buncha skeletons shoveling the trash that comes through the Black Gate into the garbage pile with the remaining Otyughs. Sadly, it seems there’s some magical fuckery going on in this place, since the healing I give to Duldar, as well as the rest we take to attune the keys seem to have a harder time restoring our fighting spirit. I just hope that’s not going to be a feature in this entire area, and just in this filthy place. Because we’re gonna have to dip out to get proper rests in if it’s the entire Cysts area.   During the hour or so it takes to attune the keys, we chat among ourselves. Well, Skrik and Janey talk a bunch, and we learn that when we get back to Lundyn we might meet Janey’s mom. Who is apparently a Mithral tier Adventurer that’s so good she doesn’t have to look for work, but people will hire her specifically to do stuff. And that Janey’s kinda scared of her. Probably because she kinda didn’t tell her parents that she’s an Adventurer herself.   All I know is that I’m about done with this dungeon. We heard it was a weapon manufacturing facility, but the closest thing to weapons we found was the Golem guy we wanna free up to help us with the caravan. But, if we’re looking into making mechanical horses, why would we need the Golem guy? I should remember to ask Janey why we’re not gonna kill him like we did the rest. Is it because he didn’t try to attack us? I’ll admit that seems to be a rare quality in this place.
