Session 4: Secrets in the Sand Report

General Summary

Last we left off, an assassin was hiding behind the entry way into the order of the golden dragon. Showing no fear, Abnor called the creature down and intimated it with it burying itself and running away. The monk master Galadan brought the group into a secret area within the order, displaying a large machine turning aquamarine sand and processing the souls of the departed from the monastery that had perished in the battle against the dragon queen. Galadan expressed fear and disdain for the lich lord; however, his hands were tied in order to keep things running there. He explained that Greekka had figured out that the lord was a lich and that he had brought the dragon cultists together to summon her. Greekka challenged him here and fell, with Galadan watching. He begged Abnor and his friends to leave and head north to live peacefully where the war forged don't really reach. Using a broken war forged as a conduit, he prepared a teleportation circle outside and allowed the group to rest. Later in the evening when they had awakened, they prepared themselves to depart and were attacked as Galadan was away. The assassin struck and Revenance also turned on them and attacked them. The group made quick work of the assassin and at the last minute Galadan gave the monk war forged a taste of what an open palm master could do. Using the mage war forged's ability he teleported them just outside the city of Trinda.   Outside of Trinda the group came across a group of barbarians having dinner over a fire and the group sat down and talked to them. Their leader's name was Bertrom along with a woman named Keletha and a green dragon born from Balazar's tribe named Zurac. Abnor and Balazar decided to have relations with Keletha before entering into the town where the tavern they walked into contained some people from Gunthar's past and a nicely dressed cat that the group all recognized. Before a confrontation took place a mass charm was cast on the group and they were able to escape before everyone's senses returned to them. After resting, the group awakened and went down for breakfast hearing news that a young child had gone missing in the middle of the night. Shrumbo was able to locate the cat and the group made their way to a museum of sorts for the Scions of the Turquoise Cod that had saved the town many, many years ago. The cat explained to the group and Gunthar that he ferried the girl that this group was named after as she was a "Child of Destiny" and because she survived because of him she went on to do great things just as Gunthar would. He attempted to explain that he was truly neutral in most of this and didn't really care for the whiles of mankind nor the god-killing pissing contest that the lich lord had found himself in. The group was able to find the elves again out in the ocean on a boat where they made their way out to the ocean. Shrumbo turned into a giant bird and carried Gunthar out to sea while Abnor, Balazar, and Warden rented a boat from an old sailor and paddled out there. The group took down two of the elves there and captured the ship they were docked with and entered below. The elven man that haunted Gunthar's dreams for so long now stood before them and rushed in to attack, screaming in rage he focused all of his anger towards the "one that got away", but the group was able to take him down. Gunthar was given a gift from tinkles that he was able to open and he explained that the lord's brother was just outside of town. Gunthar found himself revisiting his thoughts of the fey and his scenario and the group slowly made their way out of town back towards the group by the campfire. After a few a while Bertrom walked up with half of a deer hanging off of his shoulder and they began preparing their meal. Abnor began talking about Bertrom's brother and immediately his laid back attitude and kindness shifted towards one of annoyance with a few eye rolls. With a slightly annoyed huff Bertrom exclaimed, "Well great, now I'm going to have to kill you." in almost a whine and the group began to transform into werewolves. Tearing flesh from their own bodies as hair extended and large fangs erupted from their mouths...Funguys...roll initiative.
