Session 2: Fungus is Thicker than Blood Report

General Summary

Last we left off, the funguys made their way back to see Chloe for Abnor seeking her guidance. Upon entering her primary chamber, they found a Walrus-like humanoid discussing with her and the copper dragonborn along with Warden came through the magic circle that had previously sent them to Windbury. Warden advised that during his time in the holy city of Grangerford, he'd discovered a secret entrance to what seemed to be where a research lab and possibly the lich's lair would reside. After discussion with the silver dragon, she sent Abnor on a collection task where he ended up meeting up with the soldier that saved his life in the wars so long ago. Returning back, he offered to pay his debt trying to find another solution and after some guise and deception, the dragon smiled at the core fundamentals of humans. Abnor was given the opportunity to bind himself to the silver dragon's service and with the help of the group, he was able to successfully transfer his essence from golden to silver. After a good night's rest, the group was awakened by alarm bells ringing in the city from a traveler that had rode for days across the plains for aid as the town of Gutithorp had been sacked by a group and one of them wielding a giant axe. Knowing what they needed to do, the group made their way towards the town across the plains with a few encounters with goats, burials, and other various things.   Entering the town they found that it had been destroyed. The airship was in shambles and the power generator sparked and flared with wild magic causing all kinds of disturbances. Investigating, the group found footprints headed into the forest where the group came upon the power crystals that they'd previously found in the dream, surrounded by fey creatures and Balazar. The battle ensued and the group came out victorious and they continued into the hole that he had jumped down earlier. The group decided to take a short rest where Gunthar tossed Theoden into the hole where he was attacked by the corrupt creatures. One flew out of the hole and the awake group took it down and once the shortend short rest was over, they descended into the hole, fighting along side of Shrumbo's dragon spirit. Again, Balazar escaped further down and the group landed even deeper in the corrupted they were climbing down into. Abnor starting the conversation with Balazar seemed to believe that it was Balazar, but the veil soon shed and an undead creature began its assault against them telling them that this place would be their grave. After some trips, slips, and pitfalls the group destroyed the corruption inhabiting this place and made their way back to the destroyed town where they achieved a long rest and prepared to go end the madness that had been plaguing them in the holy city.
