The brazen attack by the Stormlords has all of Hilltown abuzz and the authorities seeking answers. The Companions now have two leads. A live prisoner to interrogate, one of the vile cultists who murdered innocents in Everflow Square and a name; Gar Blackwell the man who supposedly kidnapped Songbird. His main haunt is the Crimson Maw in Ashville, a den of pit fighting and gambling. Will they finally be able to bring the fight to their enemies?
After many twists and turns, your long journey from Iron Watch finally ends with your arrival in Hilltown. The threat of war lies like a shroud over the city. An army from the Bandit Kingdoms is camped outside the gates, sent to protect the citizens from the Black Prince of Merrin, whose own forces have been sighted north of the Whispering Hills. It is a relief to find that the caravan and the people you helped have reached the city safely. Having thwarted an assassination attempt, you have decided to seek out your enemies to take the fight to them—and to find Creek’s sister. You have been spending gold to loosen tongues, and what you discover will change everything...
Wherein our heroes finally make it to Hilltown only to find an army stationed at the gates and someone who wants to kill them!
The Companions of Iron Watch lie sequestered within the cultists’ chambers, catching a desperate breath to plan their next move. Just down the hallway, a battle rages between the cultist remnants and the hag’s redcap allies. Will the Companions plunge into the fray to catch their enemies off-balance, or bide their time until a lone, bloodied victor emerges to be struck down?
The Companions of the Iron Watch have been lured into the lightless depths of a hag’s lair. Wearing the stolen face of Songbird, the creature led them—duped and hopeful—straight into the heart of her rot-choked cave. Now, trapped within her viscous clutches, the party must fight to escape a fate worse than death. The shadows here hold more than just malice; they hide the truth of Songbird’s disappearance and perhaps the truth behind the cultists' nefarious plans.
With rescued caravanners in tow, the Companions of Iron Watch make there way back to the road. Once there they set up camp and create a bonfire. Their hope is to draw the attention of their own caravan or a friendly one while also perhaps even drawing the Songbird that Sings at Dusk so the Creek can be reunited with her. Drawing attention to yourself is a double-edged sword as they will soon find out....
Our heroes have tracked the vile cultists to their lair in the ruins and put an end to their nefarious plans saving four victims in the process. Things will be all the more difficult now with four more people to protect. After searching the dungeon they settled in for a long rest to prepare for what was ahead. Should they return to the caravan? Who or what the thing that they saw in the mirror? Was it the "she" that the cultists referred to. What more can they learn from the ruins above?
Our heroes have tracked the wagon carrying the remaining members of the destroyed caravan. The trail led them to a ruined and desecrated Church of Morwen hidden deep in a gloomy wood. There they discovered that evil cultists were performing a hideous ritual. They were able to put an end to the vile rite, but Lyra, one of the caravan guards that came to help them, was gravely wounded. Creek learned that his sister had escaped from the cultists, but where she has gone was still a mystery. Will they return to their caravan and continue on to Hilltown? Will they seek out the lair of these cultists and try to learn more about them? Perhaps the cultist know more about Creek's sister?
A hard fought victory over gnoll marauders behind them, the Companions of Iron Watch continue their journey with the caravan to Hilltown.
