Epilogue (9) Report

General Summary

Sindryl had joined the party in his pursuit for power and wealth so that he might reclaim ancestral lands that he had lost in Etal. Unfortunately as the struggle for the artifacts drew more and more of the party's attention away from other concerns, a rift began to form. Sindryl felt disconnected from his new companions, and it became clear that their goals were not in line with each other. Toward the end of the adventure, when he was certain that the party could no longer assist him, SIndryl abandoned them. He would later on travel to Nevan in his attempts to gain wealth, where he would become a successful bodyguard for many of that realm's top nobles.   Logen had never been quite sane, the party and almost everyone he met could tell that to be true. He too felt a disconnect form between himself and the party as their objective shifted away from combining the artifacts for power's sake. Similar to Ectival in this regard, Logen was with the party for the accruement of power. As time passed he became increasing absent, leaving the party for days at a time on strange personal missions. Each time he would return with some retinue troops, but they would either die off or he'd leave before they became useful. In the end, he abandoned the party for good, leaving without a trace as he had done so many times before. For that reason it isn't certain what became of Logen Orstead, but some say that the forests of Othos became less safe after his departure from the party. His ability to gather together men of ill repute made it easy for him to create a band of merciless killers who tramp about the land killing and destroying as they wish, with a special fury saved for town wells.   Ravyn gained an extraordinary prize from her search of the king's vaults. Her personal quest was to gain immortality for her and her father, who had maimed her in one of his failed attempts at that goal. In the vault she found a book detailing the creation of the Kaldirian Elixir, which was the alchemical product of the Dwarves of Mol Kaldir to give to King Korbar Azrak of Banboldhir some 400 years ago. His goal was as well immortality, and the elixir allows the user to extend the health of their bodily functions beyond their normal abilities. He was elderly at that time, but with the elixir he felt like a young man. The only problem was that it had to be consumed regularly to maintain the effects. Either way, it was a solution to Ravyn's problem. It would normally be forbidden by death for a mortal to use life extending magics such as the elixir, but as a reward for her part in stopping the return of Typhon, Death allowed her to create and use it. After the death of Solomon, Ravyn accompanied the Knights of the Scarlet Hand back to Gottholm to oversee the destruction of the artifacts (the helmet of Ectival would be captured and destroyed later). Once her duty had been done, who took the next boat back to her ancestral home on the far side of the Fringe, where the Minavl family manor was located. With book in hand she began work with her family on the Kaldirian Elixir. Much of her life from then was spent in pursuit of magical knowledge and writing a large array of works on the subject.   Ralof and Rodgyr accompanied the knights as well upon the death of Solomon to ensure the permanent destruction of the artifacts. They spent a good amount of time in the Empire, experiencing advanced architecture, cosmopolitan society, and military capacity that was on display. After that stay, Ravyn and the brothers parted ways for a final time. By themselves now, Rodgyr and Ralof took a ship back to Othos to resume their lives. They traveled back to Rolendale to pay respects to their home which had been destroyed by the cult activity. Once they tied up those loose ends, they looked to the future. They enlisted with Vestidia in their war against both Lothrid and Astoria, serving with honor and valor. Once the wars ended, they moved to Tharsis where they reunited and joined the community there. They married local women there, and began families of their own. Rodgyr moved up the social ladder and eventually became one of the top officers of the Tharsis garrison. Ralof, being a man of war like Logen, started his own mercenary company, calling it the Company of the Grey Lion. They established their headquarters in a fort outside Tharsis, where they sent their days purging banditry from the land and stomping out any cult activity. Ralof would eventually die at the age of 55 from complications caused by the long term effects of Arcane Rot, but not before having children of his own to continue the Elmore line. Rodgyr died at the age of 34 while attempting to quell a major rebellion within the city. He left behind his widow and a son named Solomon. Of the namesake, Rodgyr said that while Solomon was caught on the wrong side of things, he was still a good and honest man.   Solomon died on the deck of that Elivasi trade ship, so his story is short. He was buried in a grave near the shore of eastern Everos, where the knights made landfall in their home continent. His spirit was claimed by death, but given special purpose. Solomon would become one of death's agents of order, who move about the world in spiritual form to ensure the status quo between the living and the dead.
